I was just conflating the potential asset seize and Silver's assertion that Giedo's a billionaire by marriage. But seriously, I just don't want to see fewer teams on the grid. Apart from anything else, the sport will only be poorer and even more predictable.
Apparently Kaltenborn away to be arrested! By choosing not to run when the car was capable of running, surely they are also breaching Ericsson and Nasr's contracts too? It's like she's going out her way to dig the biggest hole possible
She should stand down now for the benefit of the team. They have been in decline for a long time now and this contract row is just an embarrassment to the team. there was a further contract issue last year with di Silvestro and the teams financial struggles are well documented. They are losing a lot of credibility. Under Peter Sauber, they were always a team run by enthusiastic people who loved F1, now they seem to have no direction on any part of what they are doing.
That was my first thought. It may simply be that his suit fits Giedo better as I think Marcus is taller than Felipe*; or it could be a sign... "Beware the Ides of March..."** Psychologically though, it must be hard on Ericsson to see him literally inhabiting his stuff; plus, Nasr is reported as bringing more money to the team. *Maybe I should add that I do not know how tall any of them are but VDG has always struck me as on the tall side for an F1 driver and Ericsson appears to be taller than Nasr in photos. **Maybe I should also add that the Ides of March fall on Sunday...
Sauber are an embarrassment now. Obviously smaller teams want to extract as much money, sponsorship and financial benefits out of their pay-drivers as possible, but at least know all your options before drawing up and signing contracts with drivers. Their new car and livery is ****ing horrible as well. Maybe BMW or Red Bull can offer financial and design assistance
Well the car doesn't seem to have been too bad in the end. Just watching the highlights now rather belatedly and actually I think the livery looks pretty good. In a way helped by the lack of sponsors I suppose it looks nicely uncluttered. There's something a bit retro that I like.
According to Benson, it's Colin Kolles potential team owner and that he is using the VDG affair to take over Sauber. Now, I'm not aware of any details at the moment but it's hard for me to see how having the man who wrecked HRT and Caterham in charge would be a good thing. Oh, and it was great to see how much improved the Sauber car is. Their management may have messed up but the guys making the car have clearly done a good job. Props to Nasr too for a fine drive.
I wonder if Colin Kolles is actually working for Bernie!!!!! He appears to be making the teams he works for go under. 2 Down 2 or 3 to go!
Kolles The fattest douchebag you have ever met. A large, troubled man who, though likable, has problems in many areas of his life, the most annoying of which is that he can't direct a marching band worth crap. He feasts on Twinkies and other unhealthy snacks, while he yells at innocent children" - Definition via Urben Dictionary
Well that's the evidence that Sauber won't see the season out. Kolles is like F1's liquidator. Hangs around like a bad smell waiting for teams to get desperate enough to let him in the door then kills them off.
