I can't believe I'm agreeing with Mr Hat but yeah, get rid of this.

Remember in our last PL run when they had that one guy run out with shirts to throw in the dance and try to get the east stand to dance along to whatever he was doing (it was towards the end of the season). He only lasted one game and received exactly zero reaction from the crowd.

If there was an emergency, it's probably safer to go on the pitch.

It's true, if there was actually an emergency, then people would almost certainly run onto the pitch.

That does make the rules rather farcical, but they are the rules and like them or not, we're obliged to follow them.

To be fair, they have to look at a worse case scenario and it the entire stadium was on fire and everyone was on the pitch, there'd still have to be a plan to get them out.

The 'rules' are more guidelines that club must refer to, but there's latitude within them.

Yeah I know. It's one thing we should learn from Valley Parade to not go back through the stadium and instead exit onto the pitch then through one of the more direct exits in the four corners.

I think there being no usable exit at the back and a build up of combustible material under a combustible stand were bigger factors.

Was there a fence at the front to stop fans getting on the pitch ?

    True to a point.

Some are rules, some are guidelines, but I suspect we follow the guidelines as if they were rules anyway.

I think once the ball starts rolling and stuff like Safe Standing gets implemented at grounds far older and less practical than ours, then the goalposts will be moved.

Could somebody please ask the club to give an undertaking that the season ticket renewals will not be sent out until we know next season's playing name. That is the playing name registered with the FA.

There are elements now that arguably fall outside the guidelines. The guide itself has no statutory force. That only comes when the recommendations are included in a Safety Certificate.

That's pretty much at the top of my list of issues to be discussed.

Though I suspect we won't be waiting much longer to find out the outcome anyway.

The thing is, there's only clear access to the pitch at the bottom of each walkway. In an actual emergency, the people falling over the barriers and advertising boards could soon block that, meaning the exit through the stand would be needed. That's not even considering getting the less able bodied down from the middle or top.

Oh, Dutch, Dutch, although I like the tone of your drum, it needs a new rytythm (sic), a different approach. Your desire for coordination is admirable, but most of us have a problem coordinating our dog's walks. What happened was disrespectful, but blame the instigators, not those who you saddle with the responsibility of a response.
Anyway, not looking for a quarrel, just adding a tad of Fez balance. :emoticon-0105-wink:

On another note, what's happened to the sail?
