Monetaire lost that at the start. The bookies will be getting the starter a drink or too for that.

I too have 2 left in the last. Just A Par and Clondaw Knight. Think there is still around 21000 left in so don't think it will pay as near as yesterday.

What are you talking about Bob? Cue Card had more than proven his class as a novice, he got beat a head by Bobs Worth at Newbury giving him 7 pound. You know Bobs Worth, that horse that won the RSA and then The Gold Cup? Obviously it's impossible to say how strong Vautours form is just yet, but I very much doubt any of those beaten today will go onto be as good as Cue Card.

You also have to remember that the JLT usually attracts a lower class of horse as it doesn't have the prestige of the Arkle. Most horses that run in the JLT are horses who aren't quite good enough for The Arkle or the RSA. It is basically The Ryanair of the novice division. It's not a race a horse as good as Vautour should be running in.

I don't want to crab Vautour to much, as I thought his performance was outstanding, and I backed the horse, but I'm still not convinced he's ran to Sprinter Sacres level as a novice. Sprinter Sacre was the best chaser since Arkle, so it's a little over the top IMO.

I completely disagree old boy. I'd taken into consideration the run agaist Bobs Worth but there's plenty of holes in that. I don't think running Bobs Worth to a length anywhere other than at Cheltenham is top, top class form especially when it's over 20 furlongs. I think Bobs Worth was having his first run of the season that day and Cue Card was totally match fit after running a couple of times in the weeks leading up to it. It's good form, definitely, but it's also definitely half a mile plus shorter than Bobs Worths best trip and is Cue Card's best trip. So again I'd say Cue Cards real grade one form came to light after the Cheltenham run as a novice chaser as opposed to really showing just how good he was before the Arkle. I'm not saying Apache and Valseur will be better than Cue Card but they've got actually got significantly better credentials than CC over fences at this stage of their chasing careers.
