In all honesty, it looks (possibly only to me) from your posts like you dislike him much more for who he is and the class of people with whom you associate him than with anything he's actually done. I work very hard (though I sometimes fail) to argue the point rather than the person making the point but it's difficult here. You're clearly someone prepared to hate others for membership of some perceived group which seems odd, given the point you're trying to make. I see a contradiction that I suspect you don't. The conversation's generating more heat than light, so I'll leave it. Vin
I absolutely agree with your point about suggestion, although in this case we all know the rhyme, so if you don't want to appear to have said it, you would be best To say something very different.
The wife and I another couple went to the cinema to watch this when it came out, all four of of agreed it was rubbish. I certainly wouldn't watch it a 2nd time. But I am sure some people would have liked it.
A good general place to head is Metacritic. Have a look at the user score (based on users) rather than the metascore (which is based on critics). It does occasionally throw up an odd result but in general is a very good guide as to whether something's worth the time. http://www.metacritic.com/movie/watchmen Watchmen looks to have a decent rating. Vin
Whether a film is worth watching is subjective...I never watch shoot 'em up films or goofball films, but they seem pretty popular with a lot of people. I have just realised that I mainly watch British films now.
Watchmen's quite good, but it could have been better. Might have been better over 2/3 films. The soundtrack's amazing.
Continuing the practice of surprising myself, I watched a film starring Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis only the other day. It was called Boeing Boeing and was extraordinarily dated, cliched and sexist. But I sat there and quite enjoyed it. It's OK, I went down in my own estimation too,
I watched that and enjoyed it, but I was considerably younger A very good old film is Some Like It Hot with Curtis and Monroe.

I saw that yesterday, but thought I'd leave it as it had all calmed down. The man is just spoilt....the world doesn't revolve around him.
Naively, I thought everyone liked Some Like It Hot. A classic of the cinema. The comedian Sarah Millican [I think the name is correct] thought it was boring crap, while on I've Never Seen Star Wars, to the utter shock of the audience, me and presenter Marcus Brigstocke.
