The champions league is no way to measure the quality of a league.

If it is, then by the same criteria MK Dons are better than Manchester United.

Good stuff. And the argument is the EPL is much more open....And I'm assuming that list of 5 winners includes Blackburn.

    Yes, Blackburn is one.

In the same period in the supposedly less competitive Bundesliga there have been 6 different winners.

Which is 3 teams in 10 years. And the number of teams which have won the PL in the last10 years is? Yes it is 3.
And who will win it this season? One of those 3 teams.

I've just learned - thanks to BT Sport - that this is only the second time in history and first since 1979 / 80 that one nation has so many clubs left in the Europa League / UEFA Cup at this stage. That has surprised me actually and must be doing wonders for the Italy coefficient.

But the Bundesliga will get less competitive as Bayern are totally dominant to the extent they buy the best players of their nearest rivals.

There's a good article on it here.

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-champions-league-spot-coefficients-explained

Serie A will have a good year this year but I really can't see it overtaking the Premier League.

Interesting how the titles are split between the 5 times.

    Barca-10
    Real- 7
    Athletico 2
    Valencia 2
    Deportive 1

    Man Utd 13
    Arsenal 3
    Chelsea 3
    Man City 2
    Blackburn 1

I can sit and watch WBA vs Burnley, but for some reason I couldn't never watch Getafe vs Almeria.

Yes. No one team has been as dominant in Spain.

I think for many people, unless the game is lively and played well, they are unlikely to have interest unless they are rooting for a team. That probably goes for any sport really. To go beyond that and be interested in a dull game as a neutral would need a huge love of the sport concerned.

I can watch NBA & NFL over European league football, but at the same time I may not be paying attention for the whole game unlike football games that I'm interested in.

The best league in the world for openess, in that there are any number of teams that can win the title is the SPL.

    Pure quality.

So point proved in the title category. Still is there actually someone who thinks another league is as interesting to watch as the English? Almost no one here has any connection to the UK and since I was a kid everyone I know has watched the PL and although we do have the other top leagues on TV as well no one watches any other league minus the occasional big name match up. La Liga is boring, Seira A is boring the Bundaslegia isn't bad the mexican and Argentinian leagues are boring and so is the Australian league which for some reason we have on TV as well.

What point is proved? As many teams have won La Liga as the PL during the PL's existence.
Interesting to watch doesn't equate to skill levels.
It used to be the best atmosphere was at an English game. That is not the case either nowadays.

Technically we're light years behind Spain and Germany.

    Probably Italy as well.

But for entertainment value we are way, way ahead of those boring set of bastards.

If you don't believe me ask someone who is impartial ie. Someone not from Europe.

    Someone from The States perhaps?

I was conceding your point. Is it that rare that you don't know when it is happening?

No one denies that the best skill teams are not in the PL but the most entertaining league in the world is the PL. I'm not saying it will be that way forever but it certainly is at this moment.

    English football is brilliant.

    Foreign football is rubbish.

    Everyone knows that.
