So why post on a public forum Dai? If you only care about what you (think you) know, what's the point in you contributing to the debates?

If you disagree with Bob, rather than try to shoot him down with an arrogant post, just ignore it.

Bob - I'm pretty certain that there was no mention of Sousa by Huw. Checked with my pal who sat next to me - he agreed, Huw thanked everyone bar Sousa. It may have been an "accidental" omission .......

"The usual suspects" have been rewriting "history" for some time now. It's only the efforts of the few that prevent this from happening.

"he,along with Monk, show a complete lack of dignity". That's not all they "show a complete lack of".

Sousa and Laudrup have more style, and class in their nail parings, and therein lay the problem.

Didn't Huw show some class when he stumped up 50 grand of his own money to help save the club?

Sousa was good manager imo, but left of his own accord for what he considered to be 'bigger and better things'.

This is why I think Monk was right in saying that our clubs success is down to the board rather than any individual manager.

    My view
For the last decade after a short spell enhancing their CV's, and I freely admit continuing our forward development, manager's have ran through the revolving door marked exit for ex-managers, key staff and best players. Almost annually we've had to suffer the mass exodus of people emigrating to the land of 'bigger clubs'.

Unfortunately, other than Sousa who if I recall correctly only took Jordi Lopez with him, each revolution tore the heart out of the club as we were almost cherry picked to death of our brightest and best.

So many times our club has had to be re-designed, reorganised and rejuvenated from the shell left by the 'bigger clubs' virus which seemed to infect us each summer.

Unfortunately the world did not stop to give us time to recover but each summer the start of the new season raced towards us as unstoppable as the headlights of an approaching road train. It wasn't going to stop for anything and in its blinding lights, we had to stay calm, focussed and rebuild in readiness for the impact of its arrival.

This collision course with catastrophe seemed to be happening to us almost on an annual basis and each time it did our board stepped in. They searched for, courted, found and appointed replacements of an adequate calibre necessary to continue our progress and success. They didn't shy away, they rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in, achieving remarkable results in short time......every time.

Each time our board refreshed, restocked and re-manned our club to ensure that we'd be in the best possible condition to compete in the following season.

Each time the boards new appointee was provided with sufficient funds limited only by our meagre resources and not by the boards frugality.

Think about it, directly due to the revolving door of managers, key staff and best players, al too often we had to start a new season with a distinct disadvantage to many other clubs in our league. We began many seasons over the last ten years without any continuity or momentum to carry us forward from previous successes as each summer brought the virus that would inevitably weaken and ravage us.

Many managers have come and gone but one constant remains, our honourable board. They have remained true through all times good and bad and it is they who have given us the momentum we lacked and kept us moving forward. Their tenacity, persistence, doggedness cuteness and intelligence have come together on many an occasion to push us on again.

Imo, they have created, not discovered but created, a cure to beat the 'bigger clubs' virus while simultaneously slamming shut, if you can slam shut a revolving door, the revolving door by prescribing and appointing Garry Monk as both cure and custodian.

Through this master stroke the board has cured this perennial aliment as with Monk there will be no more revolving door and no more summer viruses of the magnitude we've had to endure of late. Summers be exciting and interesting for all the right reasons and will be times where we can take a breath, rest up, recuperate, replenish and grow.

An absolute master stroke by our stupendously superb Board. We should all be proud of our guys in the ties. Enjoy the ride.

and the short version for the wum chums
    Premier league - 9th Place - 40pts - priceless <ok>

Paulo Sousa was a complete idiot and was completely out of his depth when he came here. In fairness to your chairman Sousa apart he hasn't hired a bad manager in a very long time. Martinez, Rodgers, Laudrup and Monk have all done very well for you and turn you from a club doing nothing to an established Premier League side that more then holds it own

Sousa had very good ideas but they just wasn't suited to the English or Welsh game and especially the championship

I thought sousa did great things for us and could have done more if jinx had listened to him and let him get a striker on loan, That said sousa like most foreign coaches dont accept the boards decisions and go off in a huff. he realizes now what the club was doing and wished he could see it at the time and stayed with us....

"Class" - no. He simply had money to burn. Having surplus money doesn't mean that you have any "class".

You'll be telling me next that wearing a Rolex is "classy". <cheers>

An interesting read, ruined by your "wum chums" jibe. I wonder who it is you were referring to?

"Master stroke" would appear to be a tad premature. Time will tell.

Since Laudrup actually achieved 9th place;won a Major Cup,and took the team into Europe.that would make him even more "priceless",don't you think?

You seem to infer that Monk is not going to be snapped up by,a) Real Madrid,b) Barcelona, c) Man Utd.,or even d) Millwall.

Dai,our man on the inside, has often informed us that he won't be at Swansea next season. Who to believe?

Money that he could easily have lost. Shame you hold man that has done so much for our club in such contempt. Without HJ, we wouldn't be where we are today.
