I don't know if it's being discussed on the board but I couldn't see a thread.Today David Duckenfield has admitted at the Hillsborough inquest that he lied when he said Liverpool fans stormed and broke down the gate at the Leppings Lane. This evil **** was allowed to retire through "ill health" and receive a full pension. In my opinion he should be forced to pay back any money he has received and give it to the Hillsborough families.

He's been throwing blame and trying to cover his arse for 2 days now.

The Liverpool Echo does a daily report, I imagine most on here are up to date.

Wait until they get Bettison on the stand, Duckenfield was and is an evil **** but Bettison was tasked to put up the smokescreen and turn the government, press and consequently the people against LFC and blame our supporters, and to make matters worse Merseyside Police Authority gave him the job of Chief Constable against the wishes of the HFSG and the fans and majority of people on Merseyside, to make matters worse our council tax has paid a large part of his pension since he conveniently retired to evade action against his criminal behaviour.

I read the hearings report most days and some of the evidence being given is unbelievable, the lies, contradictions, throwing fans back in the pens, delays letting medics through - it just goes on and on.

Thanks for posting this, it's good to know other fans are supporting the cause. Let's hope the outcome is what the families deserve after the horrendous struggle they've been through for the truth to come out.

I didn't want a whitewash on our part because I was confident the truth would prevail at the new inquests, as jb says the police actions as told and in the main by most of their own shows the carnage on the day is firmly down to them.
Part of Duckenfields evidence went along the lines that only fog on the motorway and a couple of other things would mean the game should be have a delayed kick off, I'm surprised the major roadworks on the M62 on the day of the disaster wasn't raised by the lawyers for the families.

The tragic truth is that it was his incompetence combined with outdated Police crowd control procedures that lead to the over crowding, and then they failed to react to what was unfolding literally before their eyes, for fear of being seen to have lost control of the herded humans who were dying beneath them.

Whatever the outcome for these individuals they have to look at themselves in the mirror every day and have done for 26 years.....the deaths of the 96 must haunt them, as their blood is on their hands.

The sad thing is mate, once this is all over there'll still be people who will ignore the findings because they want to pin it on the fans. The families have always maintained they want the truth, good or bad, but I bet even after all they've been through, there's things coming out now that they can't believe.

I,like I presume many many others, always thought the scousers were to blame.
For these bastards to allow this perception to be the norm is just disgusting
The people of liverpool must be delighted that the truth has finally come out and the 96 are finally getting some justice albeit decades too late

The disaster happened only a few years after Heysel which made us hated and it happened during the Militant Labour years, the Thatcher government were already demonizing the city of Liverpool at every opportunity even before the disaster, but the lies about Hillsborough cemented the hate that was already there for us.

Why, who would it have saved? Altough the sideshow would've been over a lot sooner. The simple fact that everyone, especially from Liverpool, like to ignore is that if thousands of drunken fans without tickets hadn't been marching on the entrances intent on gaining entry the decision to open the gate wouldn't have needed to be made. And who is to say what would have happened had he stopped them gaining entry, would the same fans from Hysel a few years earlier have turned meekly away? I don't think so, certainly isn't my memory of LFC fans in the 80's.
A tragedy for sure, but most of the blame lies with the ticketless fans, I think that should be remembered before you absolve them from the guilt they share

You ****ing low life, the families have suffered because of the slanderous lies for 26 long and painful years you scunbagz, it makes no difference what you think happened or wanted the truth of it to be.

He didn't just open the gate for no reason, but LFC fans don't like to go down that road, they just go for the Polices lie about the opening of the gate to absolve themselves of an blame.
    http://www.itv.com/news/granada/201...st-of-ticketless-pairs-plan-to-enter-stadium/

those weren't drunk, but they were ticketless and 'going to cause some bother' to get in

And I'm not blaming the victims, or the victims families, they had tickets.

You are truly ignorant, the witness your link refers to mentions a group of people(Liverpool fans)telling him a story about blah blah blah, and like there were hundreds?, thousands? In this group?
    <laugh>

If you read the story the end bit shows he's just an attention seeking mug who the police found to try and cover up what Duckenfield has admitted to.
By the way, the police have already admitted their plan to shepherd supporters in orderly queues into the turnstiles was non existent.

You've believed a total lie for 26 years and are struggling to come to terms with the fact you're a mug.

I can't believe people can still be so stupid that they still believe the lies that were spun over a quarter of a century ago, despite those involved in the lie even admitting it now ffs.

    You sir are a prize **** <ok>

  17. I contemplated deleting the comments but since it's a Hillsborough related thread and he's stayed on topic despite being a complete ****ing moron with his "views", I've let it be.

I've raised the other mods attention to this already (about 45mins ago) so if it gets out of hand the hammer will come down.

  18. I've read todays report a few times now and one bit keeps grating at me...

"one of the biggest regrets of his life"

...one of? ONE OF? What else has he done that's up there with this then...?

The only reason he's regretting it is because if the jury returns a verdict of unlawful killing he could be in deep ****
