It is going to take desperate acts for Man City to get anywhere near to meeting the FIFA requirements. The rules forbidding this sort of transaction are in place within the regs, FIFA just have to ensure they enforce it. Hope they have the balls to do it. If they fail with this then the whole fairplay concept is screwed anyway.

I hope they have the balls to do just that if it becomes necessary. But do I believe they will? Really not sure that I have that much faith in them.

The problem is that clubs like us and Arsenal, and no doubt a few others, are actually making great efforts to comply and in doing so are having to take hard decisions about transfer budgets and wage caps, both of which are going to give us a handicap when competing against those clubs who ignore the rules and keep on spending (or who attempt to get around the rules with tricks like this and keep on spending). So FIFA/UEFA will end up stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they allow Man City, Chelsea, Barca et al to get away with flaunting the rules (or even the spirit of them) whilst other teams have sacrificed success (or at least made it harder to achieve by spending less) in order to comply then they will have alot of very annoyed clubs on their hands.

FIFA have made their bed, now they have to lie in it. This for me is the first real test of their resolve to implement their fairplay plan. Fail this and I don't think many clubs will take them seriously anymore. The FIFA case is so strong, there is no way on earth that the Stadium deal is worth £400m as a fair value market price. If they cannot enforce this then it will be open season for all the other rich clubs with willing owners to do the same and get around the regulations in one stroke.

I hope they have the balls but I serious doubt it.

Everything has loopholes to exploit I just hope FIFA and UEFA plug them soon
