RUMOUR: It has been suggested on a few sites that this is a club mockup of the new kit for next season:

Should it say 2015/2016? Otherwise it will be out of date midway through the season.

    Needs a line of yellow.

But the main point is hopefully the players wearing it will be a lot better than the present bunch.

Not a fan of yellow as it represents a very poor period in the club's history. It's not traditional either for those of us who prefer blue and white. I like the kit posted by Dai. However, playing in a new kit will not improve the dreadful performances by the players on the pitch.

You are joking aren't you? Season 1975-1976 when we were Runners Up in Division 3 to Hereford United. That was a fantastic season with magic games against Hereford, Palace, Wrexham amongst others. I seem to remember a 30,000 crowd against Hereford. We also played in Europe the next season by virtue of our exploits in the Welsh Cup. That shirt is my all time favourite. It might not have been Division One football but those boys gave their all for the club which had some disappointments along the way but was far more exciting than we have seen in the past couple of sasons

Not joking. My preferred era was that preceding the blue/yellow shirt when we were regularly playing in Europe and of course the game against Real Madrid and the Toshack/Warboys/Clark/Gibson era. Playing third division football against Hereford and Wrexham is a relatively poor period in my book. Historically the club wears blue and white predominately and the introduction of yellow an abomination in my book. Of course all this is a side issue as performance on the pitch is what really matters.

However, you raise an interesting point. Is it better to play exciting football in Division 3 or the kind of football we are playing currently in the equivalent of the old Division 2? Perhaps you have a point after all.

With the current muppet in charge we'd be playing rubbish football in division 3 and that's definitely worse than playing rubbish football in division 2.

BT only said that because the blue, white and yellow is his favourite replica shirt. Wish he would wash it occasionally.

We have reminisced over that Hereford game many times. The actual crowd was 35,549 and our scorers were Livermore and Campbell. I was working with a South African guy at the time and took him to his first Football League game that night. We couldn't get into the ground until 20 minutes after the kick off due to congestion at the Canton turnstiles. I had to explain that football wasn't always as good as this. Should take him to a game now!!!!

Well we are certainly of the same era! That Toshack Clark combination was deadly and great to watch and is probably to blame for my life long alegience to the Bluebirds. We came so close in 1970-71 to securing promotion to Division One finishing third to Leicester and Sheffield United. All my/our hopes and dreams came crashing to earth with a 1-5 capitulation at Sheffield United in the run in to the end of the season and that was after we had sold Tosh to Liverpool in the November. If only............... (sounds like another thread). It was said that the board, in those days led by Fred Dewey, lacked the ambition to make a go of it in Division One and would rather be a big club in the second tier than struggle in the top. Well we know what happened for the next 40 odd years.......
