Should money be the deciding factor for a public body that is supposed to provide entertainment and an unbiased view of the world? "Do what you like as long as you pay enough". .
I hope he is sacked and his three daughters go blind. I don't really think that. It's just a joke. Like they do on Top Gear...
The difference is one is a proper traditional Englishman whilst the other are some sort of commie scum who can do no evil.
Should a public body pay a lot of money to ****s like ?Ross who don't entertain many? Unfortunately the days of TV producing entertaining and informative stuff, and ITVused to as well have gone. Kids today don't have the attention necessary or the inclination. The idea that the BBC, packed to the gunnels with Guardian reading types, has any chance of offering an unbiased view of the world is risible.
Anyone who thinks Clarkson is racist has no idea what genuine racism actually is - which is the problem with today's totally OTT PC world. The thing that annoys me about the whole eeny-meeny rhyme is that Clarkson intentionally mumbled the n-word to make it inaudible - this is quite conveniently forgotten by his detractors. Presumably anyone calling him racist has never seen the Top Gear specials of them mingling with the locals in their country, joining in with their culture and experiencing their heritage. Presumably they've never seen the black and asian 'stars in the reasonably priced car'. Presumably they think John Cleese is racist for some of the Fawlty Towers scripts. Presumably David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd are racist for their Allo Allo stereotyping. Now those Chelsea fans did sound properly racist.
Nearly as risible as thinking that those same "Guardian reading types" have any real influence. They're a symptom, not the cause.
Gaurdian/Daily Mail? tough choice! I guess I'd rather not read The Daily Mail, the red mist descends when reading it for some reason.
It wasn't Sach's daughter. No, I dont think it is. I just remember some things and not others, I'm sure we're all guilty of that. You're making out as if I support Brand and Ross when I dont like either of those either. I just dont think it was anywhere near as bad as what Clarkson has done on repeated occasions.
From my pint of view, it's an open and shut case. If I was at work and had received various warnings regarding my previous misconduct, then if I decked someone in the office, I would expect to be frog-marched to the gates by security and advised impolitely that my services were no longer required.. I would expect no support from the union or employment tribunals. I would be lucky to get another job. Just because Clarkson is an "entertainer" why should he expect any different sort of treatment?
For the same reason footballers often get away with being petulant ****ers, because they generate a lot of money for their employers.
It is hypocritical of the BBC the way they've dealt with Clarkson and Brand and Ross. What's worse a joke that turned into lewd answer phone message. Or aiming a punch at your boss? What makes Clarkson a twat is this 'I'm untouchable' attitude because he's worth millions to the BBC
Agreed, it's terrible that toilet cleaners and bin men get paid less than doctors, and that people like Clarkson or footballers get a decent cut of the money they make for their employers. Far better if everyone was stuck on the same ****ty wage whilst the men at the top take everything and live in complete luxury.
