In the sixties I decided to take my soon to be wife to the not so friendly Den when City were playing against the Lions. If my memory serves me correctly it was a very important game in that if we won we were promoted and if Millwall lost they were relegated. Guess what happened, but to give you a clue our walk back to NewCross Station was very scary. Oh what do we do to support our beloved team.
P.S. This year is our 50th wedding anniversary despite my poor choices of venues to take her and if you see her at Wembley - just ask about Selhurst Park when I was arrested in the name of Bristol City. The referee said if I was a Bristol City supporter I needed a break and so I escaped.
Like you I'm struggling to understand what people see in him as to me it's one club that he has done well at, bit like another manager I could name.
May be interested to know that as a matter of life time record Holloway has been a manager for 868 games and won 318 or 36.6% of them. Steve Cotterills record is 258/626 viz 41.2%. Pulis 36.9% I guess therefore Holloway's career record is respectable
If that is your conclusion I wonder what he thinks of you. Probably nothing because he doesn't even know you
I know him though! Even the statistics you have put up just prove he is the worst manager of the three you have chosen?
Settle down Planksy, just because you weren't at YTFC tonight. Try and be a bit more positive. You're so negative, serves you right you didn't buy a season ticket. We don't want moaners on here.
Well one manager is one of the hottest managers in the football league, the other is sitting on his arse reflecting how he ruined another club he managed. Hmm, tough one to call who's the better manager.
At least he was right about that I've been to some **** holes in my time around the world, but Blackpool is right up there for being a tacky, seedy, run down chavs paradise.
My opinion is that Holloway has successfully managed to combine a career with raising three daughters all with hearing problems and has the guts to resign when idiot fans made his family's life unbearable. So his priorities are right. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but he is entitled to respect. I have no problem with him be pro gas as that is his right. No manager can guarantee success wherever he goes, look at Gary Johnson. He's had his highs and lows. Incidentally could get his stats as he is currently unemployed.
Incidentally anyone know the name of the Football Leagues long ever serving manger with one club?. It is a surprising statistic? Also name the only person who managed and played for two clubs in the same City
OK I guess you give up. One Fred Everiss managed WBA from 1902 to 1948. Incidentally one Roy Hodgson has the record number of jobs 19.. Secondly one Terry Cooper is the answer Another lump of useless information. No wonder the patrons of the Coopers think I am a silly old sod
