and the evidence i found in 15 seconds agrees with you on slower but says they react slower and trajectory is not good so that means basically if you let a pot head drive round outside a school dont be shocked they dont stop in time.

my vote is dont ****ing do it just like dont do all the other stuff.

i dont even agree with alcohol limits as they are sops to yesteryear. no alcohol is safe really its gone so low one pint is prob puuting you on said limit.

the drug law applies to many many drugs including prescription ones too.

this is like saying hmmmm.. the cop stopped you for nothing..... arrested you on a fake test that they couldn't possibly know and the did you on a blood test.

in my mind i have an image of jordan belford in wolf of wall street here.... that was funniest part of whole film

Over 1,600 plants were seized in the former nightclub Credit: Cheshire Constabulary
A large scale Cannabis factory was discovered by Police during a raid on a former nightclub in Warrington town centre.

A search was conducted at a former nightclub, Club Wired, on Mersey Street on Friday February 13.

Over 1,600 plants were seized in the raid with a estimated street value of over £1.5 million. Annually such a large crop of cannabis could generate over £6 million for the people running it.

Two men, age 48 and 34, and two young persons, have been arrested in relation to the incident, and they are currently being dealt with in police custody.

While there are limits in Germany as well, if you have an accident and they find alcohol in your system (even if under the limit), then for insurance purposes it often automatically deemed to be your fault (even if it wasn't), or even makes the insurance invalid.

Cannabis use when mixed with alcohol use
That's because it's an illegal drug, if it's legalised, the law will probably change but as it's still illegal then obviously it will be treated differently to alcohol!

I wasn't asking why it is treated as worse, I was pointing out that it shouldn't be!

It's quite clear what you were doing but you missed the obvious - of course it's treated as worse because it's an illegal drug. As I said if it's declared legal at some point in the future it won't be treated differently to alcohol.

  10. Its not like people give a **** about laws anyway is it? People that drink or take certain substances still drive regardless. There are many older folk that drink five or six pints and drive because 'that's what they've always done and been okay'. Same goes for having a driving licence, I know someone that's been driving for over forty years and never held a licence, they've never been pulled up either so got away with it.

  11. Exactly. You can't say its illegal but you're allowed to X amount in your system and drive <laugh>

You're spot on with those observations. People will always disregard the law. I think afcftw was trying to point out the inequality in the law regarding drink and cannabis but he missed the obvious that driving having taken illegal drugs will always be treated differently to drink. I think mito called it when he talked about responsibility. A responsible driver won't drive under the influence of anything, whilst tired or distracted in any other way such as texting which is another addiction that should be cut out while driving.

I don't think there's many of them left these days mate, especially in towns / cities.

Only in really rural areas have I seen heavy drinking and driving in recent years. I stayed in a place literally in the middle of nowhere last year for a night, and I got there on a Sunday afternoon about 2 ish. Opposite the remote pub / restaurant were about 8 Land Rovers parked up and in the bar 8 ruddy faced farmers having a beer and already a couple in I reckoned. We went for a walk, came back, and they're all still there........went for a shower and came down for dinner.......all still there........had dinner and went into the bar for a nightcap.......all still there, we hit the sack about 10.30.......and they were all still there - steaming by this point. Got up next morning - not a Land Rover in sight <laugh>

  14. Well, I can only comment on what I know and see and it certainly still happens in these parts so you may well be right about cities but not about towns.

Always makes me laugh at Christmas when they do these massive campaigns about drink driving and having excessive amount of police cars out to catch them. You never see a police car, the coppers are all too busy monitoring the drunk clubbers in the town centre <laugh>

I live in a very rural village thesedays mate and it's got a pub. The odd flute drink drives, but only after a couple in the main. The pub actually has a minbus and picks people up from surrounding villages and then drops them off at closing - very civilised <laugh>

  16. Good to hear, not like that round here though. I'm not saying its a majority, far from it. There aren't as many as there used to be but obviously that is going to be the case as they get older and either stop driving totally or unfortunately die off. But it does still happen.

I didn't miss anything, I'm perfectly aware why the law is different, I was pointing out that it shouldn't be, not sure what it is you think I've missed!

I agree though it's about driver responsibility. People should take the responsibility of driving a car seriously and be focused each time they are behind the wheel.

Yeah I don't think it's very common place these days but there is a guy I often see driving drunk home at pub closing at about five miles an hour down the two short roads to his house lol, he must be 80+ years old! So your right it does still happen. Attitudes in general though are changing and I'd like to think people are becoming more responsible drivers...

If you were 'perfectly aware why the law is different' you wouldn't have said this -

''With alcohol there is a legal limit you can have in your system while driving, the idea being before that point the driver isn't impaired so isn't actually doing anything wrong or worthy of punishment. Yet with cannabis, the law specifies that no impairment is necessary, they just need it in there system. This is wrong. Punishing people for doing something that hasn't effected anyone goes against morality in my opinion.''

This is wrong - you clearly stated. No it isn't wrong it's the law - because cannabis is illegal. Admit it you made a faux pas, no shame in it, but you certainly didn't write the above whilst being 'perfectly aware' <ok>
