There will be a few players who will be on other clubs radar this summer that's for sure....Monk wont be happy to let them go but will have no choice if jinx accepts an offer he is happy with. Ki most certainly could go if the price is right and Fabianski will be hard to keep but it will be all about Ki i think this summer.....

Roma can get stuffed. As for Ki, we should make him captain next season and build the squad around him. I will be very surprised if anyone important gets sold. With 3-4 quality signings in the summer of the calibre we signed last summer, we could have a very impressive squad next season to challenge for a Europa spot (although we ain't out of the running this season yet too)

 

It's time to stop being a selling club.

That will never happen. All clubs will sell if the price is right...

 

Players we have at 'risk' in our squad for me include

Ki, Siggy, Shelvey, Monterro, Fabianski

but we are in a position where we can demand premium prices for our stock so we'll have the £ms to replace any of them.

Imo though the summer will be about who we sign not who we let go, I think we should look to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic or Aleksandar Mitrovic maybe Aleksandar Mitrovic, Aleksandar Mitrovic would be good or we can sign Aleksandar Mitrovic, who? Aleksandar Mitrovic

 

I'd rather have a tidy squad then continual lose our best players . £28.000.000 in the bank (not yet but in instalments ) for Bony and we've replaced him with sorry to say a player who can't score . Consistently good goal keepers are although cheap in relative terms are difficult to find , Ki has developed into player who's name should be 1st on the team sheet ,Montero we've only seen glimpses of his full potential and Shelvey has still a great deal to offer to the team , so I'd be disappointed if any those were to move on .Jenkins has stated that we need to progress to the next level but imo to do that you don't sell your best players .We've been relatively lucky that we had replacements for the player who've left but will that continue .

 

I'd be very disappointed too Matt and I'm not saying we should sell any players but the players I mentioned are the ones I feel have been most visible for us this season and so may attract attention from richer clubs.

Imo, 'richer' clubs like our very own top 4/6 and too the top European Clubs are lazy, apathetic even, when it comes to scouting, preferring to 'poach' ready made talent from other clubs as opposed to developing it themselves. They can afford to do this so as to add ready made quality to their bulging squads or, as I suspect is the case with Bony, stop the competition from getting them.

Richer clubs want 'poorer' clubs to do all the scouting work for them, develop the talent and take all the inherent risks. When these players are prime, in they step with bulging wallets and they're gone.

For us this year imo, Siggy and Ki have developed into consummate professionals, Fabianski already is, and Shelvey is getting but his raw talent makes him visible while Montero is the Cherry on any cake.

You can bet that all are being tracked by those very clubs who rely on the 'The big Club Theory' to get their prey.
