    Lighten up, Stan!

I think Fernandes has finally seen the light with Redknapp's departure (sacking) and the avowed intention to focus on youth in future, backed up by the appointment of Ramsey. The debt write-off signals the board's commitment and will hopefully enable the club to avoid FFP sanctions.

We are not yet relegated, but, if it does happen, I remain optimistic for the future.

    Sorry lads!

I am 100% for youth and much prefer Ramsey to the 'big name football man' alternatives we could have been lumbered with. We still have a chance, though I'm afraid my water tells me otherwise. In 2011-12 I was certain we would stay up, in 2012-13 certain we would go down but it was relatively painless because we were such a horrible spineless team. I totally hated the year in the Championship, vile football and way too much of it -46 games, who needs that? This year I care a little more about the team who are at least trying, but it feels like a chore going to the games, apart from the company of my fellow R's fans. Partly that's just logistics, I have a 200 mile round trip and the traffic has been horrendous lately, but also it's the fact that most games are pure tension and no joy.

And sorry Stroller, the financial stuff is a scam designed to lessen the FFP fine, which has been easily seen through. There will be much (necessary) pain in bringing spending into line with income, staying in the Prem will make that much easier. In the meantime I get the feeling all spending is frozen. My contacts who have a contract to work on the training ground have told me they have heard nothing for weeks and are beginning to fill their order books with other work - in January they were told everything in place, including the cash, start in April. Hopefully all will go ahead, but if you lose your CEO and FD in a matter of weeks and replace them with Les Ferdinand perhaps there is some uncertainty.

4 points from the next 6 and the first sod turned at Warren Farm I'll be singing a different tune, for I am the FICKLE!!

If the training ground is further delayed it will be a worry, but I really don't see how the owners writing off £60 million of their own money, whatever the motivation, can be seen by supporters as anything but positive. Chris Wright, a QPR fan, put a whole lot of money into the club, but demanded every penny back when he left, leaving the club in administration.

Tony has turned out to be a complete incompetent. Likeable but ultimately a nitwit who hasn't a clue what he's doing.

We lost £65 million in the previous season, without the write-off we'd have lost £70 million on the latest, that is staggeringly incompetent in any line of business. If we had a team challenging for Europe and winning cup matches there may be mitigation but to be playing shyte football for the third season running and facing the drop yet again is beyond incompetent, it's criminal...

I disagree about your opinion of Tony. Yes for sure he has made mistakes so no arguments there. What we have is a not so hands on chairman who spends most his working life in Malaysia running a successful and still growing low budget airline.

His mistakes were employing and trusting non football people to see the day to day running of our club. It failed so Mr Beard has left. We now have a football man Sir Les taking on that roll.

Tony is learning the hard way but he is learning. Us Rangers fans are the most difficult to please and often the most cynical. I know it's all doom and gloom right now with the awful season we are having but I still remain hopeful that we will get it right one day soon.

If it wasn't for FFP that loss would be carried and our total debts would be just under £250 million, promises of the training ground and new stadium with that sort of operating deficit is 'pie-in-the-sky'.

Four years of TF and we're going backwards...

The clubs debts are to the owners (shareholder loans) and they have said that they won't leave the club indebted. They have just written off £60m, which to me is a sign of good faith. It's their money, not ours.

Still doesn't change the fact that they've spunked £130+(?) million and are likely to end up in the Championship. Its catastrophically bad management.

UTR's I respect your opinion mate but the dog in the street would've known how not to do it so wrong. It was childlike incompetence.

Johnny Giles always said, the best Chairmen in football are the one's you never hear about.

I imagine they still have their eyes on the bigger prize of Old Oak. They probably see a few hundred million as speculative spending.

Fair play, I guess only time will tell. For sure things have been done wrong. The rich owners chucking money at it approach has failed. We are now taking a new course but with the same owners so lessons are being learnt.

I know this thread is straying off topic from some hating the prem but while we are on the topic of Tony I though Id post this link.

It's just to demonstrate how opinions differ depending on which QPR forum your reading. WATRB's did a poll a week back asking are you pro or anti Tony. It was a landslide pro Tony win in the vote.

    http://www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?186611-Are-you-pro-or-anti-Tony-Fernandes

It would be interesting to do the same poll on here to see the difference.

Yes but it's looked like that for years now. Don't worry Swords, it will look much better when we have our new 45k seat Hoops arena stadium built on it<laugh>

You seem anxious to turn Fernandes into the new Not606 Taraabt game.

Is it conceivable that a new stadium could be built at Warren Farm together with a new training ground, if Royal Oak becomes not doable before the next century?
