One minute were talking about a scurrilous piece of anonymous journalism the next we're talking about the performance and spirit of the team. 2 different issues.

And as I said in post #11, the journo's piece may in part explain some of the performances, but they're 2 different issues.

I'm not going to presume I know or understand the culture of the club based on some anonymous blogs on the Interweb, without knowing more about the guy doing the posting.

He could be a mag, could even be Steven Taylor, for all we know. And he loves us!

So without understanding the pre-conceptions or bias of the poster how can you form an objective view?

It started for me with pdc, at the time I thought he was a nutcase.. After his sacking, the players negative traits he spoke of became quite clear as the season wore on. I think his strict fitness regime prob saved us last season plus obviously playing without pressure cause maybe the players thought we were already down.. Your prob getting me wrong blunham, I'm not presuming this off this secret article but their has been a pisspoor standard set by the current bunch of players over the last 2 seasons.. Just what I think anyway. Hope they start earning their money from here on in because I believe the easiest paying job in the world ATM is playing for Sunderland.. Sadly.

I think there could be something about the spirit within the changing room that's not quite right, even though every week one of the lads seems to be telling us the spirit in the team is good. It's just not translating itself in the key 90 minutes of the week.

The performance against QPR a couple of weeks ago was shocking. Now was that due to the spirit within the team or the tactics of the manager?

At the moment I'm leaning towards the managers tactics being at fault rather than the spirit within in the team.

Yeah I agree GP has his part to play too. Ellis short has a part to play because I'm curious to know where we'd be if he sacked him after qpr result. It's all big if's & buts ATM. That'll do me I've had my period for the day :emoticon-0172-mooni<laugh>

I think there's truth about the drinking culture. But before anybody is naive enough to swallow everything this idiot say's it might be worth looking at some of stupid **** he's wrote. This idiot is a fantasist who uses his anonymity to lay down some ridiculous far fetch accusations.

Does anybody actually believe he has a mate who knows AJ and that he's retreated to a dark place? This bloke has a mate who knows every bodies personal life. It's bollocks.

I bet he claims he has a mate who knows me <doh>

$100 says the secret footballer is some bloke trying to make a few quid (well done to him BTW). FFS he has google ad's on his site for a few quid a day, rite on your a pro footballer !! urm ok

That being said, the preseason that PDC was in charge the lads seemed to be fitter and faster, and IMO a large factor in our unbelievable form last 10 games. Other teams looked knacked , were as the lads seemed to have stacks of energy.

bardo was photographed pissed out of his mind on the floor and PDC woulda kicked him out if he hadn't got the bullet................
he now plays for a team who are 8th in the league................maybe it's playing for us that drives them to drink :)

Or maybe when someone comes, recognises it and tries to stamp it out, the players and fans turn on him and get him sacked. I don't think Sunderland drives them to drink, though I know that was tongue in cheek :p but we're certainly a club who allows it to happen. If PDC was in charge we'd have a squad full of Mo Farahs, instead we've got a squad full of Phil Tuffnals.
