If Gerrard is fit hope he is on the bench as the past couple of games we have had no real cover for midfield on the bench, just strikers and defenders. Think this will be a tough game as they will long ball it most of the time to bypass our midfield. Their strikers are good at holding the ball up whilst the rest of the team catch up in support. Our back 3 are in for a bombardment from the air today, one which Liverpool have not experienced since 1945
Didn't realise Sakho was out in the last four games, 3 wins out of 4 without him is very good. Means Brendan system is really working. Considering it only started 3 months ago. Waiting for the 11 on the pitch today, but pretty confident. 3-1 to us
Would much have prefereed a league game to keep momentum up rather than another potential banana skin. I just don't care for cups if I'm honest. Winning would be nice, obviously.
LFC headline on website: Markovic and Johnson start against Rovers That upsets me without even looking at the team.
Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson, Markovic, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge Subs: Ward, Toure, Lambert, Moreno, Sakho, Balotelli, Williams
I would make that team lineup to be; -------------------Migs --------Johnson---Skrtel---Lovren Sterling---Can---Henderson---Markovic ------------Lallana---Coutinho -----------------Sturridge
ROVERS: Eastwood, Henley, Baptiste, Kilgallon (c), Olsson, Marshall, Evans, Williamson, Conway, Cairney, Gestede Subs: Steele, Spurr, Brown, Rhodes, Taylor, Henry, Lenihan
Good that Rhodes is on the bench, also good that their hatrick hero in the last round against Stoke isn't in the squad due to injury (i think). Not that I wish Injuries on players!
