So you want Ramsey to set up defensively and hit teams on the counter, with our pace lol. At the end of the day TF as nice as the guy is has again ****ed us up. He didn't have the bollocks to sack Harry at a time that would give a new manager the transfer window. He stopped anyone coming in during the window and sold Mutch. Now he wants us to produce our own talent and not splash the cash in the market place, wake up you prick... we need a blend of both. Undercutting competitors in the airline industry is totally different to running a football club, and he is proving that every-time he gets involved. Take a step back Mr Fernandes, lose the twitter account and let the professionals pilot the club!!
--------------------------Green------------------------- Isla-----------Onuoha---------Hill----------------Yun -----------------Henry---------Sandro---------------- Phillips---------------Vargas-----Zarate/Traore/Hoilett -----------------------Austin---------------------------- Plenty of pace there going forward.
And the young lad, too. It's usually the opposition who do last minute substitutions to take the momentum out of the game when they are ahead. I couldn't believe that we were doing it, too!
That substitution was all about Ramsey getting Sandro an ovation from the Spurs fans imo. What other possible reason could there be?
How about he needed to come off as he's only just back after 3 months out with a bad injury. I know it was very late, but he could well have been feeling that or something else.
Can I add here that Matt Phillips is starting to look like the player we brought before HR drained the talent out of him. Let's give Ramsay a chance, we should have had two penalties yesterday and IF they had been awarded then I doubt this thread would have been posted
I thought Matty Phillips made some good runs but sadly he had to wait 20mins for the rest of the team to catch up.
There is no pace at all going forward with this plan and I will tell you why. Matt Phillips cannot beat a player so will just pass it back inside to Henry or sandro. On the left hand side read same for hoillet, Traore cannot keep the ball in play and Zarate is not a wide player. It's 4-4-2 as yesterday or 4-5-1 with Joey in between Henry and Sandro. Vargas on right and Adel on the left.
Yeah I think you are right. The rest of the team are too thick to play in the same team as Matt. Maybe Barca will come in for him when we are relegated?
He sounds rather like the first Mrs Uber after she took on that Royal Marines Rugby XV single-handed.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't worship Matty Phillips. Three things: Firstly, I picked what we have available. Taarabt is injured/won't play or whatever. I'd pick him in the three behind Charlie if he was fit. Secondly, there is pace in that line up. You said there wasn't. Not being able to beat a man is another thing altogether. As it happens I think all of Phillips, Hoilett, Traore and Zarate can beat a man. Thirdly, in a 4-2-3-1, the three players behind the forward can interchange positions and the two wider players aren't really "wide men". Most Premier League sides play like this and many of the players in behind the forward aren't wide men per se. If everyone was available apart from the long term injured, I'd pick this: --------------------------------Green----------------------------- Isla----------------Onuoha-----------Hill-------------------Yun ----------------------Barton---------Sandro-------------------- Phillips----------------------Vargas------------------Taarabt ----------------------------Austin--------------------------------
I have no problems with Matt going forward, although he could be better and his dead balls could be better. But he is awful when it comes to his defensive duties and seems to be so lazy with getting stuck in when he hasn't got the ball. I would much rather have Taarabt in his place but I think Taarabt has been at the kebab shop a bit too much again.
I thought it was actually 3 pens, at one point with a cross coming in vertongen had both arms wrapped around the neck of I think Austin on the edge of 6 yard box. With everything that went on can't remember if it was Austin or not. Much more than the usual holding and wouldn't have complained if one like it had gone against us.
So the three behind the front two are not really wide men? Pointless. Our goal came from a cross in a wide position on Sunday. Charlie Austin put the cross in . Got himself wide because no one else was wide. You can write down all the combinations of the 10 outfield you like but if the players cannot get into attacking positions and run behind the defence then all you get is the hoof ball you keep complaining out. We have three wingers on the books and they need to do what wingers are paid to do. Get the ball into the box.
