Supposedly, we had the hardest run in on paper, but thanks to wins over City, Saints and Spuds, we're looking much better. United will surely never keep up with 5 of the top 7 to play (5/6 really since they can't play themselves) and I even fancy Everton to give them a good game. Everton could really do us some favours in the last few games if they get their act together...
For some reason, I first read that as "...Everton to give them a good time" Well, I thought it was funny. It is tight, but we have real momentum, and if we can maintain it we have a great chance of being there. Something I never imagined I'd be saying this season after our abysmal first three months.
Looking at the games left and the current form of those teams along with there current position you'd have to say Arsenal are favourites, with Liverpool and the spuds in with a good chance. Southampton have faltered and I expect will finish a handful of points off top four in the end. Utd have the toughest run in and with it being so close and them often relying on luck this season I could see them struggling to maintain pace with the pack. That said de gea seems capable of keeping them in any game and they do have individuals capable of making something on there own so I wouldn't count them out until we see how they do over there next few games. Earlier in the season I would of given Liverpool no chance to make top four but to get to the point it's at now is impressive. Even at the start of march I expected Liverpool to drop at least 3-4 points on Arsenal. Now Liverpool are placed pretty well to have a shot at top four.
Wouldn't like Spurs' run in. Away to United & Southampton... away to Everton & Stoke... some tricky away games there! Then again, if you want to be positive, if you play your rivals you know that if you win, they have dropped points.
I think arsenal, Liverpool and spurs have all been gaining form though, or at least seem to be playing better than earlier in the season. Spurs still have some difficult games left and tbh I don't think they will get top four I think it'll be utd through some stroke of ridiculous luck or Liverpool. But with the fixtures they have left there fans should be confident of at least challenging for a spot.
Spurs are 6th in the league and 6th in the form table. 6th is their natural position (and that's with referees giving every possible decision in their favour)
Confident you will get 3rd by sounds of it then...? You're record in the big games isn't great and playing us and United (and Chelsea) could be crucial. Your record against United & Chelsea is awful so think you'll lose both although I think you'll get a draw at worse against us and can see you winning.
I'm confident we will get top four, hopeful we will get third. At home to Liverpool and Chelsea I'm confident we will get a draw at the least. Chelsea will play park the bus football and be happy with a point, I can see it being a 0-0. And in our last three home games against Liverpool we have won two and drawn one. We also have very good home form in the league over the last couple of seasons. Away to utd is always a fixture that will cause us problems though and that's the league game I'd have as our highest chance of losing. I think though utd have a very difficult run in and will find it hard to collect as many points as Arsenal and Liverpool and Tottenham are slightly behind and have on paper slightly more difficult run ins (in my opinion).
The FA Cup game could change that depending how it goes. Arsenal are way better than Man Utd it's just a case of acting like it on the pitch on the day.
The favourites are Arsenal and us. The mancs have an outside chance. It all depends in the next matches: Spurs and ourselves. They have to win.
Hate saying this but when faced with the opportunity to go for the CL by putting pressure on Arsenal and help us out in the process they opted to lay down and not try vs Man City, unless they are deep in relegation trouble I do not expect them to try to help. Nor do they have to, a number of my mates who are blue noses were more than happy with last seasons result and I have felt that it speaks volumes about the clubs ambitions. If LFC were to lay down in asimilar situation I would be very disappointed.
You can't deny someone's opinion when he says his mates say x I am sure we will be told what said mates say when your game b utd rolls round You might not agree with it but you can't just dismiss it unless of course you are saying his mates never said it and he's lying
What his mates opinions were on the result has absolutely no bearing on the actual game itself Welcome to the point
So you disagree with his mates that everton didn't try given I think it was 2-2 then 3-2 win for city They were in fact winding him up by hiding their pain at falling out of top 4 race
