Steve Bruce has been offered another three-year contract to manage Hull when his current deal runs out in the summer, writes Janine Self in the Sunday People. Hull owner Assem Allam wants to reward Bruce for the great job he has done since arriving at the KC Stadium in 2012. Bruce is believed to be mulling over the offer after another tough season making a team consistently punch above its weight. The club are in 15th, five points above the relegation zone, on course to stay up again. Since Bruce took charge, he has led the Tigers from the Championship to the Premier League and reached the FA Cup final, losing to Arsenal. Once again the former Sunderland, Wigan and Birmingham boss has enhanced his reputation at an unfashionable club. He is also most fans’ second-favourite manager after their own. Last week at Stoke he was given a round of applause by the notoriously hostile Potters supporters when they chanted “Mr Potato Head” at him and he pulled up his hood and waved in acknowledgement. Last week Bruce was involved in a touchline spat with Sunderland’s Gus Poyet. Poyet has been charged with improper conduct, while Bruce was warned about his future conduct after admitting that the two managers had behaved like children. Hull are officially for sale and that could also cloud Bruce’s thinking. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/hull-city-reward-steve-bruce-5292298
Good news! Although i'm sure some will argue it isn't, he's the best manager we've ever had and is the best we could hope for at the moment.
He'll sign,no worries. He might negotiate another one year rolling contract, but he will sign. I for one, will be more than happy
Even if he doesnt take the offer I like that the Allams made him the offer. One of the best things they did for the club was hire Bruce and its nice to see that they continue to have faith.
It's a load of bollocks, just idle speculation. If Bruce was going to sign a new deal, he'd have done it by now.
Right which is why I said it was one of the best things they ever did. Im a little drunk so you cant be to sneaky with what you are saying. haha
If Bruce wants a much bigger club his best chance to attract their interest would be by turning City into a mid-table team. I still don't think he's done enough to get a move to a big club.
Janine Self needs to communicate with her colleague Darren Lewis a bit more. He's the one who keeps insisting, groundlessly, that Bruce is about to jump ship for a £15m contract at Fulham!
I wish, the girl is watching Downtown Abbey (vomit). At least I get some sports in an hour with the SJ game.
"Hull are officially for sale and that could also cloud Bruce’s thinking." I would have thought so lol.
