Surely now everyone can see that this league is there for the taking ?
We are now a solitary point from the top with the second best G D , we have players chomping at the bit to come on and prove their worth, we are the form team powering ahead to keep winning to go up as champions.
The Wigan defeat was dissapointing, but we put up a display today to show the others that we are the team to beat and I can guarantee nobody wants to play us in this form.
We will win the league this year make no mistake.

Great times to be a Norwich fan.:emoticon-0140-rofl:

It´s in our hands as much as anything can be, but you´re still talking it up far too soon. As tight as it is at the top, it only needs two draws while the rest have two wins, and suddenly we´re on the way out of things. I´ll begin to believe it if we´re where we are now, with half this number of games left, thank you very much .

I would rather talk up success than jinxes banana skins or curses.
Positivity is a state of mind RBF & I have not changes my mindset all season, I have always believed.
If you don't share my optimism then that is your prerogative but this division is ALL about promotion, anything else is failure.

I think we're very capable of going up, but the top 6 is so tight anything can still happen. I'm sure if we do go up you'll make another thread telling us how you never stopped believing, but I'm trying not to get too carried away. I'm enjoying our form and the excitement of games again now, but I'm still taking it a game at a time.

I think we should go on and win the league now, given our fixture list and strength in depth. It has changed so much this year at the top though, so who knows what crazy twists and turns are yet to come.

That is because the minority on here that never gave up are being proved right..
It's almost as if having confidence in our team is a bad thing and saying I have never doubted is a swear word .
Saying you will be one of the 21 teams that fail to go up is not a bold statement and mocking people who have faith is very easy.

It´s not that I ´m not optimistic as regards our chances 23, but fortunately I´m also realistic, and thankful that Neil and the players are also keeping a realistic outlook on things. To say things like " we will win the league this year make no mistake" is very silly, and will very likely come back to bite you in the bum. I can guarantee you won´t hear that sort of talk anywhere near Colney, and rightly so.

It's far to close to call
All the teams are liable to slip up could not believe we would lose to Wigan but who could predict Detby throwing a two goal lead away to Brum?

I believe we have the quality to make it but this is sport so nothing is certain

Still a lot of points to play for and when five teams are separated by only one point being sure we will be in the top twoin a few weeks time is impossible

In that case start a banana skin thread every week , eventually we will lose and you too can be proved right.
Derby next let's start talking that up as "blowing our chance".
If the manager and players don't think they can win this league then we will fail.
You can hang on to that thread of self doubt but if it spreads to the players we will not succeed.

I'm not mocking anyone and having confidence is a good thing, no one saying it isn't. No one is being 'proved' right as I haven't really seen anyone say we can't do it, we've all just got different ways of seeing things and managing our expectations. As been said before, it's tight in the top 6 and football can be very unpredictable. But obviously I'm excited and optimistic of the prospect of going up.

They´re all potential banana skins from now on, you know that as well as I do, if you want to stay in denial that´s up to you, but it strikes me that you´re the one who is keen to be proved right, by doing all this trumpet blowing - I hope you are, that way we´ll be back in the Premier League, but you won´t get me to say so at this stage of the season.

I have said we can do it and continue to do so.
Start a thread declaring your level headed doubts because it would appear that the answer to the question on the head of this thread would probably be Yes.

The fact that you hope that I'm proved right is good enough.

Not really sure why you are being so defensive about this. It's good you feel that way, I don't know how many times I have to say that? you don't seem to accept difference of opinions. The answer to this thread isn't 'No' I and other believe it's possible but also know it's not a done deal yet so keeping level headed about.

Not getting top 6 from this position seems unlikely, but even that's not nailed on!

I see this season ending in the playoff final, or the autos. Our form is good but it only takes a sending off or injury to a key player and we might struggle, and with the pace at the top we might then end up blowing our chance of the autos.

Well, I'm by nature quite positive person but I'm siding with RBF and the others who are erring on the side of caution. We have some tough games coming up - Derby (who'll be fired up after conceding two goals in 2 minutes), then the following week, we have Forest and a small matter of Leeds away. Our 2nd last home game is against Middlesbrough and of course we have fulham at home on the last day of the season.
By all means SN23, you remain convinced that we'll win the league at a canter, but I'm sure you'll see on the League Show that we should have had a 2nd penalty and Millwall shouldn't have had one, so the score should really have been 5-0. We only need a couple of dodgy decisions by match officials and a win could become a draw or a defeat and as the top 6 positions are so close and I'm certain that some of the final positions will be decided by GD, so tha t2 goal swing could prove costly, We could even end up nit even in the play-off positions. O would like to add that I'd be amazed if we finish lower than 3rd and may well win the title, but to say we're guaranteed to win it is 'setting yourself up for a fall'.

Wanting and expecting my team to win this league is what football is about, If arguing with you about our chance to fulfill this ambition is perceived as being defencive then I'm guilty as charged.

    At a canter ? NO .
Also not going up now would be excruciating , posters on here pointing out that my loyalty was misplaced would not even register .

It's all as tight as a gnats chuff - the truth is there are still at least 7 teams all with a great chance of automatic promotion. A week ago everyone was writing Bournemouth off, saying they'd be lucky to stay in a play-off position. Now they're top of the table again. I'm confident that we will still be in with a chance with 2 or 3 games to play, but given how close it is I think anything more bullish than that is probably just chest beating.
