Bradford v Reading is already on and 0-0 as I type. Villa v West Brom is a 17:30 KO Liverpool v Blackburn is 16:00 tomorrow Man Utd v Arsenal is on Monday night at 19:45 Who's going to be in the Semi Final?
Hard to pick, other than Liverpool. West Brom and Villa both have the relegation battle to worry about, Bradford's pitch is appalling and they're doing well and the other game's close. Arsenal are playing better than Man Utd, but the Mancs have home advantage and have a good recent record against their opponents. I'll go for Reading, West Brom, Liverpool and Arsenal with the two bigger sides being kept apart in the draw.
We're long overdue a win at OT, but even in the last couple of seasons when UTD have been there for the taking we've still managed to **** it up. But as I say, we're long overdue a win over utd, so I'm going to go for Arsenal, Liverpool, West Brom and Reading for the semi finals
I agree, EC. Arsenal bottle it in the big matches, which is why they've been such an embarrassment in Europe for so long.
And in the Premiership v big 4. Wenger has had years of money and stability to address this. In Europe, they freeze so hard that their ties are usually over by the first half of the first leg. At least take the tie to the second leg Arsene... it is not fair, their opponents get to rest in the seond leg giving them an unfair advantage as season progresses. MOnaco must have been cheering when they drew Arsenal as they knew they could rest players in the second leg and focus on their stuttering Ligue 1 campaign
What always makes me laugh, EC, is that the Gooners refer to him as "Le Prof," (even though most of them can barely speak English, let alone French!), as though the bloke is some kind of footballing guru! They must do it as some kind of wind up.
He initially gained that nickname because of his calm, measured demeanor on the sideline, as he studied games and made intelligent choices. Now he struggles to do up his coat, picks fights with other coaches and throws wobblies every couple of games. please log in to view this image Very professorial, I'm sure you'll agree.
So one win means you aren't big games bottlers, even though your record in big games over the past few years is shameful. Maybe you missed your subsequent match v Monaco
Monaco wasn't even supposed to be a big team Anyway we can only beat the big teams that are put in front of us. Starting with City, hopefully Utd next.
Well if you can't get your United albatross off against this iteration. Surely even your bottlers cannot be intimidated by Old t this year
We've managed to **** it up against Utd when they've been at their worst over the last couple of seasons, so they are a bit of a hoodoo club for us. Hopefully we'll put that right tomorrow, because it will be massive if we beat them at OT and will put us in pole position to retain the FA cup.
Arsenal haven't beaten Utd since Henry the Eighth was a bachelor, but why not talk up their chances? After Wenger's tactically astute showing v Monaco, it's got to be Arsenal surely this time.
We made a ****ing hash of the Monaco game, but I'd expect Wenger to set us up in the same way as he did against City against Utd tomorrow.
Yes, PESKIE, we all know that Arsenal have been an utter embarrassment in Europe - for many years, now, as it happens - but I'd be surprised if you can beat United on their own turf. It's good to see you predicting a win, though. It's a brave and bold statement.
