Are you basing this on individual skills? If so you are ****ing clueless on how football actually works. You tell me why you have a better midfield than us and then in the same sentence explain to me why this magnificent midfield has won **** all in 5 years while United have won 4 league titles and a European Cup in that same time
If Gerrard was fit, as a Footballer, no.(*remember you lot have burnt him out with him being your only top player for the past 10 years, just like M.Owen) As a Character and decent human being and positive influence on the dressing room not to mention the Millions in revenue from his fanatical Asian support, yes.
My favourite one had to be the claim that Big Time is better than Valencia. Once the fat egomaniac has laid on a few goals for the opposition next season, you guys will turn on him quicker than you can say "Paul Konchesky."
True, it really is laughable how some Liverpool fans are trying to make out he is world class. The only reason he did good last season was because the whole team around him were crap and he was the only decent player so he was made to look good.
You're comparing random players so that the Liverpool ones seem better... Wingers wise, United are far better: Nani, Valencia, Young, Park ji and Giggs compared to Henderson, Rodriguez, Joe Cole, maybe Downing. (Liverpool's wingers are shocking.) Central Midfield: Gerrard is better than any United central midfielders yes, Mereiles and Lucas are both decent. Adam is good too. United wise, Fletcher is a great player no idea how you decided Aqualani is better than him. Carrick is a bit **** yes, but he does a job. Gibson is leaving United so he doesn't come into it. Anderson has good potential which he is yet to fulfill. In summary, United's central midfielders are all pretty average apart from Fletcher and Anderson, however it's expected we will sign a new one who will hopefully be as good as the aging Stevie G. Liverpool have about 5000 centre mids, if only they had this much depth in all the other parts of their squad as the rest is fairly average. Wingers wise, United wipes the floor with Liverpool and Liverpool really need to invest in some wingers who are decent. I'd say United have the best collection of wide men in the Premiership now.
This thread is on the Liverpool board. I made the point that we would have to wait until the transfer window closes as you lot will probably buy a central midfielder. At the moment we need wingers you need central players, it's not a fair comparison.
This guys ****ing ******ed. 1st Valencia is miles better than Charlie 'teeth like a burnt down fence' Adam. Stronger quicker and (in a full season) plays more and creates more goals Adam 9 in 33 Valencia 13 in 39. Aquilani better than fletcher is a joke. He coulnt even handle the prem so he got shipped out. Another waste of money. Lastly young is miles ahead of downing. I'm not even gna waste time looking up stats. Young is an england regular n downing can't even get close. And.... Downing doesn't play for liverfool. Champions 19 times Liverpool still in decline.
But that is a fair post from yourself. It is true that United should be looking to get at least one CM in as it is our weakest area, whilst the wings are a major strength for us. Conversely, Liverpool's greatest weakness is the wings and arguably greatest strength is in the middle of the park.
Alex, have a look at post #4 about Carrick, he's spot on. It always amazes me how our fans fail to appreciate the work Carrick does. He is way, way better than average. I think a couple of dodgy half seasons he's put in over the last five have somehow clouded peoples judgement. As for Gerrard, he's a busted flush. He's going to have another **** season just like the last two **** seasons which everyone seems to have completely forgotten.
People struggle to understand Carrick's role in the team. Just because he doesn't run around closing the opposition down or bombing forward he must be useless? Just look at how much better we played when Carrick was a constant in the team towards the back end of last year.
Agreed, last season when Carrick was out teams had a free run at our CB`s, Everton away and Fulham away for example.Carrick came back and we started to play much better, the screen he gives our CB`s is excellent.Its a job that gets no glory but is pivotal to any successful team.Look how R.Madrid fell apart when they let that water-carrier (Perez` opinion, refused to pay him more than the £20k per week he was on, Chelsea gave him £100k pw)Makelele go.
