I hadn't realised it was quite so obvious to you Stan, but I am afraid you are quite right and it is true ..... I do stand there, living with the creeping dreadful knowledge that the opposition will score the killer goal at the exact point at which deep inside me a flicker of hope just begins to burn. I lie awake at night, trying to remember the last match I went to, in which I have spent a considerable time in a warm contented cocoon, a few goals to the good and the team playing controlled football, so that you "know" the Rs are going to win. So why do I involve myself in this sadomasochistic event, I have no idea...perhaps it is just to hear your witty one-liners Stan
Getting past the opposition around their box, passing into space in their box are what we need to be doing far more of Swords. It's how we can score at this level. too many of our players don't have the skills or self confidence to do this. They certainly need encouragement to try in the oppos defencive area, and not blame when it don't come off. Up there we should have plenty of chances to defend a lost ball. If we don't try this sort of play we might as well go down now, if the League will have us!
When did you first start going to LR Beth? I started promotion season 72-73, when in my memories at least we were brilliant and won most games 5-0. There was no stress, only fun, and it continued for another 3 seasons. If I had started to watch QPR at almost any time in the last 20 years I am certain I would have given it 2 or 3 games at most and gone elsewhere. I have huge respect for anyone who has committed themselves to our club since we've been ****. On the other hand, although I would never wish my initial experience away, it has ruined my fun as my expectations of style, entertainment and results are completely unrealistic and will never be satisfied. The company is still good though.
It's a fashion statement. The US ambassador to South Korea has one too - courtesy of a nutter with a 25cm knife. He's had 80 stitches in his face as a result.
Went 5-6 games a season from 1967...until I got a season in 72, which I had for about 12 years ish. Then enforced sabbatical till the girls grew up...back again about 10 years ago for 5-6 games a season ...then back again full time about 5 years ago So like you...I grew up when we were brilliant, and now I just want a few easy games please
