The last time we won four games out of five was in Nov 2012.

The best Riga achieved was four out of seven.

Great achievement by Luzon (although anyone who dares to say so is apparently a deluded happy-clappy or must be on Duchatalet's payroll. lol!!!)

The one game we lost, and were beaten quite easily according to those who were there, was the game Cousins was rested, and I don't think it's coincidence. His performance last night drove the team on for the full 90 minutes and was reminiscent of Parker. I hope he looks at Poyet and stays with us, Roland permitting, for many years.

Best run since Sir Chris... not sure what your point is Kent mate? Chris left 12 months ago so not that long ago.

A good run of results agreed but nothing to start a thread about until he beats some of Chris's records.

The comparison made was actually with Jose Riga, not with Chris Powell. And yes, in my view our best run for two-and-a half-years - especially as it has come in response to the fans unrest which came to a head with that misjudged Woolwich meeting - is worthy of both comment and praise. But you are entitled to disagree, of course.

Why do some find a way of making all roads lead back to Powell? It was good to see him and applaud him last Sat - and even better to see Luzon out-manoevre him. But his name doesn't have to be invoked in every single blooming thread!

Great thread as always Kent and I totally agree with you on Luzon's achievements so far and the continued upward trend for the club.

Is it perhaps in part because of the Woolwich meeting, Non network players brought in being the obvious change of late. Would that of happened had there been no show of discontent ?

Didn't the winning run start before then, yes that's right against Brentford. Their unrepresentative meeting had no impact on results whatsoever, just ask Johnnie Jackson.

Kent is a huge fan of all things Charlton.

Roland Duchatalet owns Charlton and his first year in charge has led to a dramatic improvement in our results and the qaulity of the squad.

As long as we are playing entertaining and competitive football and getting decent results, I coudn't give a flying fig who owns the club. I don't want a 'dialogue' with the bloke. I don't want to discuss his business plan with him. My only concern is Charlton and the players he signs to the club. As he's brought to the club at least 11 players I admire in Henderson, Bulot , Buyens, Gudmundson, Ben Haim, Vetokele, Watt, Eagles, Johnson, Diarra and Bikey plus two cracking mamagers in Riga and Luzon he's doing good for me and for my club and whatever other clubs he is said to own around Europe are of no interest to me. Apart from Standard Liege, I couldn't even name them and I am content to keep it that way.

No, Kent is a WUM who has already left two other Charlton sites in a huff when he got a taste of his own medicine.
Drummed off CL by Henry and ITTV by Reams and Royston - I volunteer my services for the same role on here!

What are you talking about, mate? You live in a fantasy world because I'm not and never was a member of those forums. I like this one because it is smaller, quieter, kinder and less vitriolic about the club and its players. So you want to drum me off this forum, you say. Why would anybody want to drive people away from what is supposed to be a discussion forum? But if this board has succumbed to such intolerance, you win. I'm sorry for widing you up by daring to be positive about the club we all supposedly love. Puff your chest out, champ. I'm gone. I don't want to be part of a discussion forum in which people are drummed off for daring to hold a different view. I shall go back to enjoying the rest of the season and a storming top-half finish and leave you to run Not606 as you see fit.

I think there is room for all opinions on this Forum. Your positivity can be a bit blinkered sometimes, but you have got every right to express it if that is what you feel. Keep posting because different views are what makes a Forum work.

Bollox. Your posting style is identical to IA, as is your obsession with Reams.
Keep posting though, as the 42 'likes' you have so far are all from me :)

I think problems are bound to arise when posters are more concerned with denigrating other posters, which is what has been happening here. Most of us talk rubbish at times, that's what football fans do, doesn't stop it being interesting though. And the great thing is, it doesn't really matter, if you see what I'm getting at. I'm more cynical than K.A. about Roland, but if he's right, then good, I can put up with a bit of triumphalist gloating. The more diverse views I read on here the better, and I'm more concerned with losing Ponders, Tewkes A4L, Franco even TC, all good interesting posters.

No one is running anyone off the forum - that certainly won't be tolerated as that isn't the culture we promote. Now please keep on topic RE the original post.

We are on a good run of results and can only hope it continues and we can take some of that momentum in to the new season - similar to when we arrived back in the Championship, the complete opposite to how we started last season. I think I'll be more optimistic about Roland if he proves me wrong and keeps the few key players we have in the summer. Katrien, I think is too petulant and inexperienced for her position.

I have worked with Solicitors all my professional life and Katrien Miere is a perfect choice for the role. I'm not saying she is any good at it - as there is no job to do other than to report to Roland. She was the eye candy and chosen for two things. A) she has a sound academic Flemish/English background and B) a cracking pair of knockers in a tight shirt.

Many people are missing the point. You don't have to engage with your customers, you don't have to show your business hand, you don't even have to have a background in the profession that your employed, you just have to have to have a bit of totty to take the punters minds of the subject, your product can be foreign and cheap knockoffs eg, Barmaids in Wetherspoons pubs.

Not all of us see the world through either the doom laden stare of Royston V or the rose tinted glasses that you are obviously using. Your unparalleled joy at a little success suggests an ulterior motive to those who have seen short term success on the field many times. It is the table that doesn't lie - under this experimental system we are currently 12th, not a fly away success outstripping others in the league to more than 100 points - but 12th. It is indeed an improvement on where we were in January, but that improvement does not vindicate the project unless you are innumerate, smoking a substance illegal in this country but commonly consumed in the low countries, just a fawning sycophant or, as has been suggested, a fifth columnist on the payroll of the project.

I do indeed like what I have seen with players like Cousins being played in their rightful position, two strikers, one with an ability to hold the ball in the corner for more than two minutes and hold the ball up for team-mates. However the horror of the first half against Norwich is still scarred on my retina.

Like the guy I sit next to in the West said "this is better" and then in the next breath and with a sigh " but we are Charlton so who knows". Do I think that Katrien and Roland want failure - with the rewards to be gained from promotion definitely not. Do I think they always know what they are doing - again definitely not. Is Luzon an improvement on Bob - possibly. Will we get promoted this season - mathematically possible but highly improbable.

The football for the last five games has been good and that is what I buy my ticket to watch.
