Its clear some are not happy with redders in charge. I dont know the rights and wrongs of that as I always bow to the knowledge of those of you attending most games. I have one fear though if he goes. He clearly has a huge affinity towards the academy lads, probably too much, but surely that gives us a far better chance of holding on to them. Say we get another manager, Foreign or British and figures of say 10m are bandied about for Byram, Cook or whoever, will that coach fight as hard to keep them or would the temptation of a fat cheque towards rebuilding be too much to resist. Whoever is in charge next season, we have to hold on to the crown jewels
Redfearn has no say in who comes and goes as has already been shown, if Cellino wants to sell them he will. As for them being the crown jewels well that has yet to be proven, they may not get any better than the level they are at now. Not one of them looks good enough to fit into a top half premiership side as yet in my opinion.
Not one of them is irreplaceable if the cash is right... The results and league position are as they are for a reason.
They will get better, even if a couple drop off the others will continue to improve. To me Cook is far from the finished article but you can clearly see why Redders thinks to highly of him, his composure and maturity alone set him apart from players of the same age. He also has a very good change of pace over 5 yards, I'd bank serious money on him developing into one of, if not the best academy player we have produced since the early 90s.
This is ludicrous to think some people are dumb enough to think that redders should go. With either Darko or Hockaday in charge we would be in the relegation zone without a doubt. Redfearn loves the club, he understand the club, he brings the youth players through and is going the best out of Byram, Cook, Mowatt, Cooper and he has steered us well clear from the bottom 3. His record during his caretaker spell was W:3 D:1 L:0 and his record since being in permanent control is W:8 D:4 L:8, making his overall record W:11 D:5 L:8, that equates to games played: 24, points earned: 38. 38/24 = 1.58. 1.58 ppg * 46 = 72.8 which rounds to 73 points. If we had Redfearn in charge for the full season based purely on statistics we would be challenging for the top 6. Do people still think he should be sacked? Well if you still do then you're deluded and you're simply not a realist. He is the best manager we've had since Grayson in my opinion. I will reiterate the title of the thread; BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!
The season ended before christmas, it doesn't matter who is the manager really, the forwards are poor, Redfearn In my dumb, humble, unrealistic and deluded opinion is a good youth coach, he's not a manager. He has been lucky in a lot of games and negative in some. Can't remember our last GREAT manager, Wilko maybe, I remember a load of good managers though. But I'm certainly not in the sack Redfearn camp. Time will tell how good he is.
How can you say he is youth coach and not a manager, yet say ur not in the sack him camp.... He ain't even a good youth coach, there are many better. I am firmly in the sack him camp, and now we are safe we should do it, and give the new man the rest of the season to judge the squad. Won't happen under the elonorara watch though!
Those who want him sacked really, really confuse me. Play-off form with an average team and the solution. Sack him. What? You ****ing kidding me.
I don't see the point in sacking him, he is IMO oh mighty one not a manager, he is a good youth coach, what do you not understand. Are you just turning into the Victor Mildrew of not606..........
Howya Eire......I didn't know there was a Redders out campaign, if I was in any camp, it would be get Redders back at youth level, IMO he is more suited there...
So you agree he isn't suited to be our head coach.... Make ur fecking mind up. Jeez getting you to commit is like trying to nail jelly to a wall.
I'm certainly not part of the Redders out campaign Shaks and with a little strengthening, we might make play offs next season. We're having one of our best post Christmases for many seasons with a bunch of young lads establishing themselves but seemingly that's not enough for some
