Well, this makes a change! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/time-city-follow-swans-8782942? Gushing praise for Monk and then this quote : "And it’s people like him who make it reasonable to call South West Wales the capital of Welsh sport." ''Certainly this corner of the country can lay claim to being a cultural stronghold" "And looking out across the shimmering waters of Swansea Bay earlier this week, with pink and powder blue clouds hanging in a cobalt sky written across by the con-trails of jets coming to and from America, you can’t help thinking it looks good too." Lordy!
They've lost touch with readers from the rest of Wales with mostly Cardiff news by Cardiff based reporters, and their newspaper sales are down 40%
There's also a big push on to sell Wales in America at the moment too. The Assembly has it's own ambassador to America now. Carwyn and co. opened the New York Stock Exchange on Monday (day after St. David's day)....wouldn't surprise me if somebody's had a word in someone's ear.
Great read and I hope Swansea City councillors digest it too, for far too long they have been holding back development that is badly needed in our city centre, lets hope the £1.8 Billion development starts to move forward, after some serious procrastinating from some seriously inept county councillors...............
