1-0, Onomah. Mistake at the back from Chelsea, who fail to clear and the lad pounces on it. Bradley Collins, the Chelsea keeper, should be saving that, though. Not many chances in it and our keeper hasn't had a shot to save, but it's two good sides who play it out from the back. Chelsea have had more possession, but not really threatened, yet. Rose, Mason, Bentaleb, Pleat, Pochettino and Mitchell are all there. Not all together, obviously.
Chelsea pretty much set up like their seniors, lots of strong, big players with a bit of pace. Very cautious stuff from them and you can understand it, they look very shaky even with 3 centre backs on the pitch. Should've really gone one up early on when Harrison went through, probably the wrong decision to try and put it through the 'keepers legs but it only stayed out by a touch off the inside of the 'keeper's legs so it was well executed. Great half from Walker-Peters, looks like he has great control on the ball and he uses his pace to great effect at both ends of the pitch, made a couple of really good tackles. Onomah's looked a player even if it's been a bit congested in the middle for him. Think I heard at the start that 9 of our starting 11 are born and bred in London, that's really impressive if I've got that right, Chelsea's players have come from all over the place.
Solanki walking around holding his face and trying to shake off the effects of the ball hitting his hand. Nice to see they learn that sort of thing early at Stamford Bridge.
2-0 FT - I only tuned in for the second half and spent most of it wondering how we were 1-0 up - Chelsea looked good but we grew into the second half and it ended up fairly even. Took the second goal well too. Who's in the other tie?
2-0 FT. Reverse of the cup final. Chelsea dominate possession and territory, but are kept out by strong defending. Carter-Vickers, Maghoma and Walker-Peters did very well, especially the first one. No wonder Arsenal were after him. Onomah looked very good when he managed to get on the ball. Leicester v Man City in the other semi, Moorpheus. They play on Saturday.
Pretty much a reverse of the first half with Chelsea attacking better and pegging us back. Awful decision making and finishing though, they must've had at least 4 overloads against our defence and wasted them all along with the chances they actually got in the box. Glover's got a great name for a 'keeper and the Aussie made a couple of good saves. Carter-Vickers was outstanding second half and rightly got a lot of praise on the commentary. Built like Caulker, looks quite a lot like him too. Thought our number 7, Sten-something, did a good job too, mucking in and getting the ball forward well too. Sterling took his goal well but showed a few poor touches as well. The star man was Onomah though, read the opposition players like a book to continually win the ball back and showed great ability on the ball taking on players and playing others in. He's a Pochettino-type player through and through, I'd love to see him get a run of games before the end of the season but without the cup games it'll probably take a couple of injuries for him to get on the pitch for our seniors. All in all a good watch. We all know this was the real Tottenham-Chelsea cup game that mattered this week
McKenna talking about Sterling being at school today, then playing this game. Must be an interesting conversation with his classmates. What did you get up to last night...?
They mentioned Sterling being 16 just then and I think they said in the game that our other sub, Edwards, is 16 too. Apart from going to the same barbers they must've both been at school today
