Quick heads up for those of you who, like me, prefer to buy tickets on a game by game basis. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/watford-fc-vicarage-road-tickets-ipswich-2291682.aspx
PROVISIONAL(!) dates for the play offs (From Digital Spy) Championship #1; 1st Leg Fri 8th May 7.45pm, 2nd Leg Fri 15th May 7.45pm Championship #2; 1st Leg Sat 9th May 12.15pm, 2nd Leg Sat 16th May 12.15pm Hopefully we won't need them...
Please no play offs. On the 16th May I will be on a ferry crossing the Med. Last time we were at Wembley I was in the SW of France with a signal that was good for 10 seconds then disappeared for 10 minutes. In the end I gave up and as it happened didn't miss much.
Did anyone go to the 'At your place' event last night? I'm interested to hear first hand about the positivity the club gave out on all issues
Copied and pasted from enjooooy the game fb group: Attended by Joka, Dowling and Duxberry. Came across very impressively. Very clued up. A lot of players (v good players) have said they would sign tomorrow as long as we are in Prem. Could have signed a number of players this year who are miles better than what we already have, but their attitude was terrible. All the main clubs (mainly Bournemouth) wanted to sign Guedioura, but he always wanted to come here because of the way Watford look after players (ie always flying to games north of Birmingham, sports science etc). 2 young British players signing next week Reason some of the youth team have been signing for Udinese is because City and United were sniffing. New stand will have a new tier added. All liked Bassong, but Joka said something along the lines of b***** him now he's back at Norwich. Confident about going up!
Thanks for sharing Mark. How long is it since the club was in such a good place? A great time to be an 'orn
Just a bit to add to that meeting. The club were nudged to apply for Cat 2 status for the youngsters. Their games will be played at London Colney, but will be open to the public. It is intended to erect a small stand there for the fans.
How long? Probably not since GT took us into the top division the first time - with him and SEJ we knew we could compete at the top level at that time. The following two promotions in 1999 and 2006 were great but there was always this sneaking suspicion that our stay in the Premiership would not be a long one and all we could hope for was to give a few top teams a bloody nose. If we do go up this time, there is obviously a confident expectation that we have the resources to make our stay a more permanent one. That's the difference.
Looks like we've lost a young player to Man City.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Probably never play for them!
With Citeh's outstanding record of bringing through youthful talent through to their first team... This is a textbook example of everything that is wrong with the trade of youth players. We are now lucky in that our owners can absorb this type of loss but once upon a time not very long ago we would be raising a player for our benefit. How are the smaller clubs ever going to be sustained with this sort of robbery going on. No we haven't invested that much (£66k) on the boy but he should still be ours to invest in and to keep or sell on for the full price later. The principle is being eroded and that is wrong.
There was a time when I would have watched every second of TV football but I have absolutely no interest in the PL these days. It could soon slip so far as to fall below shopping, celebrity game shows and fast food! This story is just another brick in the wall...
