Missed chanced last night to cement our place near the top, however we are still only 3 points off the automatics and it is better to lose against sides like Wigan rather than to others at the top as we're not going to win them all. The amount of games we've recently played probably has caught up with us a bit but hopefully we will be better at Millwall. We'll miss Grabban but hopefully we'll have more than enough to get a win at the Den. Its still in our hands! a long way to go and many twist and turns. We would of settled for this position just a few short weeks ago.
Surely that's a matter of tactics for AN to sort out, Supers. I don't disagree with you, but the loss of Grabban leaves us low on options. There must be regrets now about letting Lafferty go out on loan now. It's a big ask for Carlton Morris to step in to such a high pressure situation. Perhaps another striker on loan? Fortunately we have two very good strikers still available and we'll just have to see what AN does now. He's not one to panic, that's for sure.
We have Vadis-Offoe almost ready to enter the fray, as so far, Dorrans has failed to impress. Listening to AN's comments after the game, I think we'll approach the Millwall game far better prepared. It's not all doom and gloom (see the table below), though if we lose on Saturday, we've then got Derby at home on 14th, but other teams have a difficult run of games as well and we'll know a lot more by the time March is over!!!!
We're fine. Losing a game is not ideal, but if I had to choose one to lose it would be this. Especially as Malky Mackay has the Indian sign over us. It's not really affected our position. 8 wins will be more than enough to see us win the league. I expect us to be top of the league within 4 matches, or at least behind Watford in the autos. Still think 83-4 may well be enough to win this bizarre season.
I think we have a lot of options in midfield and thanks to AN, we now have a range of midfield attacking options with Dorrans and Andreu added. I think Dorrans has actually played well. Even in his less favoured position of WL he was one of our highest scorers in the Whoscored index. What concerns me is that both Hooper and Jerome have had injury problems and if one of them were to go out now we could be in trouble (as Derby are at the moment). Like you, I hope we can finally see what Odjidja-Ofoe can bring to the team, so it's not all despair, but I do think we're now thin in the striker area.
If he could get him to stop eating pies long enough and get him to attend training that would also be swell.
