It's obvious to everyone what he means... The ref should take into account he's been out for nearly 2 years and understand timings can be off. It's been the same over the years for lots of players.
He isn't a feral little skiprat like Cattermole so for some normal players I'm a great believer in cutting people some slack.

If you travel on a proper airline you can get internet in flight now. Also I can recommend JPF's running commentaries on here when travelling. They sound a lot more exciting than the game itself.

cant belive some people thought that was good last night ..it was the most negative nufc team ive ever seen ,,down to that dimwit playing 2 c forwards ..and 2 wingers told to defend all game .
should of had one cf extra man in mid ,,to pick up wing back runners ..then outlet winger from that side instead of just pump pump pump ..obertan walked aboot most of second half ... abeid over run was sloppy and sissoko due to extra numbers in the middle .

    Me too.

It is depressing though that I've been thinking this at this point in the season for more years than I care to remember.

It was decent tactics, I thought. However, why on earth Carver persists with the worst striker the world has ever seen, I have no idea. Riv missed two fantastic chances, and by fantastic chances, I mean my Nan would have scored them, and she's been dead 5 years...

Apart from that, the lads did quite well, we should have had a clear pen, Cisse and Evans should have been sent off, and one typical bit of NUFC defending decided the game (although Colo did his best to try and seal their win earlier <laugh>)..

Disappointed. It was an ok-ish game, it was bloody cold though. We are so lacking in options at present but there is no excuse for playing Riviere. Carver is stupid. Perez must think "what the **** with this gargoyle bastard?" I never thought I'd say this but I'd rather Gouf start than ****ing Sameobi. He is not good enough. Obertan was worryingly like his old self, but the difference is he is still getting in good areas. Sammy is lazy, and he never really threatens.

What's all this spitting lark about then? Obviously you could see them have a kick at each other but it was handbags. Bar the blatant pen I thought the ref was good, let them get on with it. I've seen the pictures this morning but neither seemed to deliberately spit at each other. Cisse seemed to think Evans had but Evans looked genuinely surprised when he accused him. Evans did not at any point seem to think Cisse spat at him? Yet everyone seems to have their knickers in a twist bar the two involved. They did kick each other mind so both could have gone for that. Good old common sense from the ref. The freeze frame on BBC looks bad for Cisse but Evans didn't seem to think he spat on him? Mind if proven in either case, have to throw the book at them, hate spitting.

Abeid was a bit suspect and that backpass was awful. Krul had a great night and I felt a bit sorry for him. Colo and Willo seemed on it again and did well. Janmaat solid enough. Raylor was good, got caught a couple of times through lack of sharpness, I've never seen a man look so paggered when he got subbed. He literally crawled off. Sissoko did ok and looked powerful on the break. Cisse didn't have his shooting boots on but he looks a bit better at present.

Overall I thought we were a tad unlucky. They controlled the ball but I thought we had the better chances. Nothing can spoil the Jonas moment, it was a great period in the game. Nice touch from the Man U lads after the game, they all wanted to wish him well.

The spitting was horsesh1t, but what was worse was Paul Scholes. Evans spat towards the ground just because of the collision, but essentially 'missed'! Papiss then mistakenly thought he'd been spat at and subsequently spat into the air to demonstrate his point. It was all utterly nothing, but Scholes said "Evans wouldn't do that, but Cisse was DISGUSTING". Even when the replay showed Papiss aiming well away from Evans, he didn't bother retracting.

I actually think we're slightly better than under Pardew. Carver can be accountable for picking Riviere, but ultimately the 4-4-2 was about right because, again, we haven't got any better players. Only Perez was better than those available, and I think Carver was aiming to have him as an impact, to at least give us something from the bench. If it had been the other way around, would anyone be happy to take off Perez for Riviere at 0-0? I wouldn't. We're probably a good 3 or 4 first team players short, hence why we've got in excess of £40m in the bank, but Ashley seems oblivious to the fact the bank can't score goals or stop them.

We desperately need to move on from Ameobi before we fall in the Shola trap for having a sub-standard player lingering around the place, producing one performance every 10 games. Riviere and Anita need to be moved on, they are considered first team and are nowhere near good enough. Riviere's a fcking mystery, every Monaco fan seemed to find us buying him as hilarious, so for all the reputation Graham Carr has I think we, the fans, should also embrace the new model and start to attack Charnley. He's the fcking director of football, is he not?

Very negative approach and mindset for me. Perez instantly gives you more. Why would you not start the match with your strongest side and look to get in front? Sums Carver up if that is what he is thinking.

Worse than that, I think it is more that the season is over so lets give this lad we paid the money for a run. Why? So potential suitors can see how ****e he is? Don't get me wrong, he does give you something in strength and running channels, but he is no good if he can't stick it in the net. Its not confidence either, he's just clueless in that killer moment.

At 0-0 I'd have been happy to see Arma coming off the bench to replace Perez if it hasn't worked.

I can't see how we're better under Carver to be honest. He is basically selecting the team he has available bar still getting it wrong. He makes all the same mistakes and more. At least under Pardew Sissoko was effective. it all looks a bit disjointed under Carver, no one seems to know their role. Of course the shortage of first choice players is not helping there, but it was never a viable excuse for Pardew to most fans, so why would be for Carver?

I agree though, the Carr love in is over.

I wouldn't have Rivière in the team, but, I can see why Carver has picked him.
As you say, we paid the money for him so it's a case of giving him a go, or write yet another failure off.

If Cisse gets a 6 match ban as is being suggested, Carver is going to have to hang his hat on either Perez or Rivière, as I can't see him playing both. Or he gives someone else a chance.

Don't care what anyone says Cisse let us all down again, last night. Ridiculous thing to do, yes Evans spat in his eye and stood on him but he reacts too often to these things and to do that is indefensable.

The footage I saw this morning seemed to show him spitting away from Evans. He did kick him of course which was silly. BBC sport pic may be misleading. I haven't seen a lot of footage though from the various angles. You'd have thought though if Cisse spat at Evans, he'd have been incensed. I'm not sure Evans deliberately spat on Cisse either. If someone spat on me though, it would not be ridiculous to react. Professional or not, there is a limit and I'd have the ****er who did it. I think Cisse may have become incensed because he thought Evans did it on purpose. I can understand that.

That ginger short arse Scholes and that Scouse **** were utter embarassments last night. Again 'Johnny foreigner' is always in the wrong, we never criticise the 'local' lad.

Firstly, this is correct. Cisse spat away, indicating what he felt Evans had done, not spitting back at him. Sensationalist wnkers have jumped on it without any thought to facts.

    Secondly....

    Ginger twot.

To be fair Scholes is always biased, only he time he looks happy is if Man Utd are winning or have won. Also he is so negative about every team. Easily up there with the worst pundits out there.

My opinion, Evans could conceivably have spat on the ground rather than Cisse... However, he also very genuinely spat at Riviere when he'd been taken out (only the ref wasn't playing pens last night). They were showing images all morning.

Cisse looks like he's spat at him as well, just looks like he's as good at getting flem on target as his shooting last night <ok>

Pitiful display from both, both should be banned for a good few games. My heart bleeds for neither.

I must have missed the Riviere one. Was it just after the penalty incident?

Yep, Riv was on the floor and Evans went over him and spat. What makes someone do that? Bloody pervert
