People going to Derby say Steve McLaren spends a fair amount of time in the stands, forever taking notes.
Reidy always spent the first half in the stands with Bobby going mental on the sidelines. Then the two of them going mental in the second half.
I hate to see managers standing right by the pitch. ****ing Bruce stood there flapping his fat flabby arms about after every tackle. Looks desperate and it's pathetic. The best ones sit down most of the game so that when they do come to the side, it has an effect. Fergie was great at that.
Well we were bloody awful against Hull and the team selection was the worst Poyet made. First time I got off the Gus bus last night. I can see us scrabbling to 32 points max. Villa I see a draw at best. Wickham/Defoe should be playing together. It's touch and go if we stop up for me. The player worry me.
Well, we have 3 of the next 4 at home and I think he'll play Wickham & Defoe in all of them. Our last 4 games, in May, aren't looking as terrible as they once were. Southampton have faded and Leicester may already be down. Everton will have scraped safety and Chelsea will already have won the title.
I'd be over the moon if villa continue on their cup run. We all know footballlers are just a bunch of ****ers at heart. Now all those at villa will, hopefully,be thinking they have a chance of playing in a cup final and will not put as much effort into the league fixtures.Lets face it most of them will be thinking they will be picked up by another premiership side if they are relegated,so they could'nt give a flying **** what happens to the team they are currently with - but an FA cup winners medal in your back pocket is always their own little bit of history
Excellent post and, sadly, all too true regarding the mentality of modern football players Di Canio was an the perfect example of that old paradox, "What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?" He came into our club and believed he could carry the players along with his love of the game, ambition & enthusiasm. The players already had their own ideas about lifestyle, cars & hairstyles
Villa are very unpredictable, they have pace, and a history of giving us a tough time especially in home games, by all means lets not fear them but at the same time we have a habit of underestimating the opposition. The team Gus picked for Hull was not far off, it is not his fault if the defense stood off for the first goal, its not his fault that our best defenders are painfully slow and have very poor first touches, give him stick when he deserves it but not at every given chance. PVA is a great attacking option but defensively rates alongside AJ and that is why he didn't start against Hull and this was the right decision imo. The same with Alvarez who I think is our best player atm., these players should be used sparingly in away games and let loose from the start in the crucial home games where our future will be decided.
Cheers mate I was at Hull and have just received my tickets for West Ham & Newcastle. Thanks to you I now feel I have no option but to leave home on Saturday 4th of March, engage in a round trip of over 300 miles at a cost of over £100. People like you make me sick ...............
