You'll struggle next season too as an unseeded club, it's a slippery slope.

And also you won't get byes in the last 16 like you've had for the past 20 years

In theory true, in practice Arsenal have got an easier tie than Dortmund in the last 16! They've also got an easier tie than Chelsea!

It's a funny old game. Teams have been known to win the competition and then fail to qualify from the group stage the next season.

Chelski lucky to still be in this. The defence looks more suspect than ours <laugh> PSG have been all over them for most of the second half. A lucky block and a few last ditch interceptions are all that have kept Chelsea in the tie. I would fancy PSG to score a couple here or at Stamford Bridge tbh. Seems like Mourhino's learning from LVG, he's got Costa playing in defence.

Fabregas hauled off. Another big game he's disappeared in. Chelsea happy for a score draw which is understandable.

He had a great start to the season but is certainly struggling at the moment.

That has been his recent pattern according to reports from Barca. Starts the season like a train and then disappears gradually throughout the season. I don't recall it being true at Arsenal, but he is looking less and less fit and less and less interested.

It also happened with us, he used to start really strong, then go off the boil, look back at 2008 season, 2011 season etc, he always had a habit of reaching peak form too early.

It might be a physical issue more than a mental one, he's had hamstring issues, so maybe his body can't just keep up for a full season, which is why he starts off so strongly, and then begins to fade as the season wears on.

I was even calling it earlier in the season, that he would eventually, as usual start to dip come the second half of the season.

  13. I know I am not the only one who feels soiled by Arsenal's perennial embarrassment in the CL. They are the laughingstock of European football.

How? They haven't had 20 years of stability and 20 attempts at the European Cup. Specialists in failure

You're right that they have been in the wilderness for at least the last two decades. Specialist in failure is an apt description given the money they have spent.
