The sun is out, the temp is in the mid 30s and all is well in the world of rugby league. Opening game of the season takes place when my beloved Brisbane take on the first invasion of scum from across the border. In this particular case, South Sydney. The Rabbitos are fresh off a stunning 0-39 win in England over St Helens, and start at $1.67 tonight against the pride of South East Queensland. Even with the return of our master coach Wayne Bennett, Brisbane will probably struggle against the reigning premiers. For those looking to drop a few coins into the dunny, maybe the "filth" at $3.10 at 1-12 points might be the way to go.

To any South Sydney fans who might take a gander. :emoticon-0172-mooni

    Morning boys and girls!!

Really, really getting excited now - no, settle down guys, the Mrs hasn't agreed to the threesome with her best friend/colleague/neighbour/sister just yet - only five more sleeps until the Festival <laugh>

Attempting to make a little beer money and think ALPHABET BAY 6/1 in the 3:10 at Carlisle is worthy of a poke.

    Good luck all!!

2 things about that ride - 1) it won't fall! I always think the top jockeys are always abit more careful of their rides round this time of the year obviously. Not wanting to miss next week! Who can blame them 2) he's obviously practising and getting warmed up for his gig next yr of wearing those colours!!

Morning, you types. Hope everyone well. Good, good.

Have some very exciting Cheltenham news to impart. Sam Waley-Cohen, the forum’s favourite Corinthian, has been booked to ride the county’s SEGO SUCCESS in the NH Chase on the opening day. Fantastic with a capital ‘F’. I can confirm that the Champers was flowing last night amongst the county set. This is undoubtedly the best piece of racing related news I have heard since Mr Henderson ordered a large GnT, at Newbury, and was only charged for a regular tipple back in ’08.

And on a semi-related subject .. I went to my local the other night to se the 'real' SBC perform .... His Highness himself .. Nicky ...
See the link below to catch his utterings on where he felt the Festival pots would be going this year .. the one clear thing was that he continues to reference Sprinter / Bobsworth with great reverence but more intriguingly wanted to reflect on past glories rather than their respective chances this year ...

Ekbalco, thanks for the link but my works server won’t allow me to open it! Did he say anything about Cocktails At Dawn??? The horse that is rather than issuing an invitation.

Ladbrokes, being very dismissive of Sprinter this morning incidentally. There Cheltenham offer is ‘money back on every horse if Sprinter Sacre finishes 1st or 2nd in the Champion Chase’.

Henderson was also sweet on the chances of Cocktails at Dawn in the Novices' Handicap Chase, which is the final race of day one. the seven-year-old hasn't won over fences yet but the former champion trainer has seen enough to think his runner has a decent chance on good ground. He can be backed at 25/1 with Skybet or Betfred. -

Chucks, the big question I have is about the beaten favourite beaten favourite that is the Wizard. Is he going pot hunting at Sandown and then the festival?

Just looked on Ja606 out of curiosity, and there is some clown ranting about a few of us on there. Apparently Wooly, Drever and me are all the same person<laugh>

And he then goes onto accuse us of all being that Cloutier fella who was banned for being a tool a few years back.

    http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/303115

There are a few rants about Stick on the other articles aswell for some reason.

I'm not sure what this guys problem is with people on here

Anyone have any ideas who this idiot is?

Sir Barney - here's what the greatest living drinker of g+t made of Cocktails @ Dawn ...

Henderson was also sweet on the chances of Cocktails at Dawn in the Novices' Handicap Chase, which is the final race of day one. the seven-year-old hasn't won over fences yet but the former champion trainer has seen enough to think his runner has a decent chance on good ground.
