....... Let's all look forward to another exciting 90 minutes of fingernail biting, eye rolling & lace inspecting. The last 20 minutes, last night, showed that we have the spirit, and the capability, to play football under pressure. Even the 'disasters' last night kept at it and dug in ......... Bridcutt played his best football of the season in that spell. Let's not allow any excuses about Cattermole, AJ, etc. It's the players available & the support that will keep us up. Villa are where they are because they're not very good and Sherwood doesn't impress me. 'Going down mi'Lord.'
Maybe Poyet should also take his own advice and sit in the stands on the Villa match - he said it gave him a better perspective of the game, he made better decisions on the substitutions plus the team played better - after the ref had banished him off the touchline.
He should sit with the supporters mate, then he'd see what we can all see ........... there were kids, last night, screaming about the gaps.
Will he have a touchline ban for 1 game as a result of being sent off? Might do us good if he makes better decisions from the stands
the bookies must have suspended betting for the draw on this one. I will ill have a bet on the 0-0. I wonder what formation poyet will muster up.
I watched the Villa game, they looked ok to be fair. West Brom didn't deserve to lose that match, Foster is a clown and always has been. His rush of blood if avoided could have been enough to send their arch rivals down this season, but it wasn't to be. Tim Sherwood was seen praying to the heavens as a last resort on tele last night when Villa got a free kick. Hoping for divine intervention is part of his managerial armoury, for that reason alone, anything less than a win against that ****nugget's team is a bad result.
I see a totally different game if I'm at ground level. When I've had comp tickets I've sat next to a fair few football scouts and they're analysing the game from the highest point possible.
The only time I've had a seat near the top of a stand was for the second round of the play off game against Sheff Utd. The atmosphere was fantastic and the noise incredible all around the ground, that didn't seem to be the case for normal league games. What was amazing was how many oppotunities for a killing pass or a tactical position were lost and you just don't see that when you're near the pitch. (my season ticket was row 22 toward the mid point between goal and halfway line in the East stand). I would have though the club would have representatives up there somewhere with contact to the bench and video for post match analysis but it appears they don't
It would be good if Villa draw against West Brom, in the cup this weekend, then beat them at the Hawthorns. The more tough games the better and hopefully a few injuries & suspensions. They then have 3 of the next 4 away at Sunderland, Spurs & Man Utd. By that time they could be in serious trouble ad the nerves will be properly stretched.
Hull have very 3 tough home games out of their remaining fixtures. None of them spent in the transfer window I think, so we should win 3 out of 10 matches Palace, Newcastle and Leicester. WHU away maybe, on sky tv. Villa are jammy and will stay up. I reckon Leicester, Burnley and QPR for the drop. 35 points should do it.
There's one manager who sits in the stand first half and comes to the dugout 2nd half can't think who it is.
If it was this sat id go ---------Pantilimon---------- Rev---Oshea----Brown---Pva -----------Bridcutt----------- ------Larsson-Rodwell------- Alvarez-----Defoe----Wickham
