Plenty of so-called worldies struggle in a new team/league as well- hence this thread.
It's an old cliché, but it is about getting the balance right. We all know this, but we get impatient, and we get star-struck occasionally and think a big name must be the answer when that's not always true.

But do you replace Gerrard the holding midfielder or Gerrard the Central midfielder? I reckon we're after Milner to fill his spot.

    Milner replaces Gerrard (free)
    Ings replaces Borini (free)
Lacazette replaces either Lambert or Ballo (£25m)
    Origi in (already bought)

Wouldn't surprise me if this was the sum total of our transfer dealings tbh, throw in a couple of kids with high potential. That's already 4 players to merge into the squad.

    thats a hard question.

I feel as though we are looking for a 25 year old who can play box to box and have a bit more technical ability than henderson does. I don't see that being milner myself at all.

I would say yes if ings comes fine we should be able to get borini gone for him.

I think sincliar might replace lambert as option.

Origi becomes plan b tpye big man form bench for balotelli...

I would say they still need to buy a striker on top of thse guys as none are the main line guy so if it was lacazette fine.

I'm not saying that I'd agree with it...there's no smoke without fire here, I just have a feeling that it's in the plan <ok>

could be... could also be a very cheap option who can play several slots.. can't see his wages being 125k per week mind.

I dunno.... the way city are going the rpess are making waves about this so I can't tell if this precontract stuff is true.

    we will have to see...

I just want a 30mil CM to gush over i suppose.

his hair is good but unlike lallana its not 30million worth of hair.

if his name was caninho or he has a blonde mohawk sure.... but i reckon we need even more.

Can, Allen, Lucas, Henderson for 2 midfield slots. Can't see us buying another. Like you said, Milner is very versatile and is a workhorse so would fit. If Can stays as a CB though (i hope not), then yes, we'll need one.

maybe... but maybe some will move or some will play rcb next year i don't know.

Gerrard WAS a worldie though. if we want more next year than allen/lucas at CM beside henderson aint it are they? not really.

sure it might be can but who knows. I don't even know is 3-4-3 is the right thing next august for us.

True. Given the success of 3-4-3, Unless teams all of a sudden figure it out, I truly hope BR doesn't screw about with our set up anymore.

I guess if we bought a amazing striker and wanted 2 up maybe it would... all i know now is 3-4-3 seems to ge the most out of what we have today.

I am worried that over a close season the technical staff in the prem seem to have more time to research and get tactics for opposition players and systems and next august we could be exposed

Yeah used to be one of the best midfielders in the world and I thought he would be a great signing.

    Been really disappointing.
