drogs sounds like mourinho... criminal indeed

I agree with most comments on di maria.. he will prob come good.

Falcao is the worst sinner of all. Balotelli has to be close behind.

    Agree with this too.
Balo and Lovren would defo be on the list.
Falcao tops it tho for me.

Both were calculated risks. Both will cost about the same. in terms of loss making, Falcao loan fee plus salary will work out more than Ballotelli fee plus wages less sell on fee. Just <ok>

Aye thats the difference though, Pool can sell Balo on and will probably get back 50% or more of what they paid for him.
Utd have to let Falcao leave for nothing at the end of the season (unless they want to throw good money after bad and pay for him <laugh>)

Balotelli was an admitted gamble, one of the cheapest strikers signed this window by any club (Lukaku £28m FFS) and has scored some important goals

He wasn't signed to be our saviour or anything, and he isn't getting game time because we have other options not because he's ****e

The only reason he gets any attention is the media circus that follows him

Welbeck cost the same, is the same age with more experience in this league, is playing in a more settled team, and has fewer goals per game

    Get over Balotelli <ok>

The whole thread is a bit of fun tbh. I mean, let's face it, our team that comfortably beat the champions on Sunday contained 5 of our flop signings....and most of those had only 2 days rest between matches!

Most new players to this league need a year. Suarez wasn't prolific in his first 6 months....although physically, he was very well suited. Look at Sanchez, brilliant player but fading badly as the season progresses. First season syndrome affects a lot of players. I predict Origi will struggle next year too. Very few players hit the ground running and sustain it for the entire season.

However, Ballo doesn't fit our style of play at all so right now can be seen as a flop but may well adapt next year or be sold as a flop. I'm not sure if Falcao fits Utd's style of play because nobody knows what that is! <laugh>

Balotelli has his uses, aside from pens

If we're definding a 1 goal lead and need a fresh pair of legs I'd rather see him come on. He WILL hold onto the ball, he WILL win free kicks, and he WILL turn those free kicks into opportunities to kill off the game

IMO he was doing well against Besiktas and only the fact the ref was a total coward who refused to book a single home player in front of their crowd meant he didn't get half their team on yellows and in danger

Yeah, that's a fair viewpoint. Fact is that even when we need to, we rarely play to his strengths....which begs the question why did we buy him in the first place! As a plan B maybe but again, when we throw him on, we expect him to play like Sturridge! Anyway, until he gets his chance to play, he'll be deemed a flop regardless....that may not be entirely his fault though <ok>

When your options is a winger and rickie lambert and borini are getting as many chances then I'm afraid you arent getting picked because you are ****e (in rodgers mind). Having said all that i think he is turning a corner and is actually becoming useful for you guys.

My biggest flops (purchased) this year based upon game time, cost, what they have produced goes to

    Falcao
    Lovren
    Mangala
    Shaw

A bit harsh on Di Maria, imo.
    Falcao definitely.
I don't think many had huge expectations from Mario so I'm not sure flop describes him well.
Lovren would top my list out of our players.

Nah all 3 of them have been our best signings of the summer even though all the talk was about Di Maria, Falcao and Shaw replacing Evra

Yeah i would agree that as far as Uniteds signings go, Herrera, Rojo and Blind have been far better than Di Maria, Falcao and Shaw.
Di Maria has been okay but needs time.
    Falcao has been turd.
Shaw is too young, I personally feel he wasn't ready to become a first team left back for a team like United.
Plus he United were ripped off. He may come good given time, but right now, for me Uniteds signings from best to worst for me is:

    Herrera
    Blind
    Rojo
    Di Maria
    Shaw
    Falcao

Liverpools signings are hard to judge. I thought Markovic would be great, and he has improved but still not all that great.
Balo I think was worth a punt at the price they paid, though he has been largely ineffective but again is improving.
Lallana has been okay, not great, but okay.
Lambert has done exactly how I thought, hasn't had much game time, but plays the support striker role adequately, with such a minimal role he was never going to set the world on fire was he?
Lovren has been the biggest disappointment, but I think he needs a decent leader beside him at the back before he will shine.

    Some less obvious one.

Wellbeck? Signed and although scored couple of goals early has been shot and dropped since.

Fazio for spurs? Shockingly bad defender signed for over 10m?

felipe Luis. Championship winning left back and runner up in the CL aigned for nearly 20m and yet has hardly played and contributed.

Been very pleased with Felipe Luis. Not a flop by any means.
He hasn't played regularly because of Dave's form, but thats hardly his fault.
He has stepped in quite few times (10 appearances in the league) and not once has put in a bad showing imo.
