Even more? They are 2 points ahead and we have a game in hand. We beat Swansea and QPR we are ahead regardless of their results. Maybe Koeman would have been a shout to replace Wenger?

Poch will get the boot if they don't finish in the top 4 and so will Van Gaal if Utd don't. To be honest with the form of Arsenal and Liverpool that is extremely likely to happen.

So on that basis a straight swap between Poch and Van Gaal. Both will **** up the other club just that tiny bit more. Then put on repeat for the following season, then repeat, repeat, repeat until Tony Pullis gets the call to drag them out of a relegation battle, managing to do it on the final day of the season. Pullis moves on to save someone else and Spurs end up going long term with Bruce or Fat Sam.

I don't think Levy, or anybody else, seriously expected us to make top 4 this season. Certainly none of us supporters did. Yes, it was always an outside possibility, but an expectation? I don't think so.

I would agree that if there is no progress next season, he could be in trouble, but I would be amazed if he was given the push before then.

I used to despise SAF but you had to admire the way he got Unitedto play football, it was relentless all out attack, which was fast paced and clinical in front of goal. He always seemed to have 4 inform strikers to pick from.
Now United under LVG is pedantic and boring and when they lack creativity they bring on Fellaini and hoof long balls up to him, I don't know how their fans can stand it. LVG and his ego will be downfall of United and he will go.
He wouldn't go to Spurs as he would see that as going down a level.
He is not welcome at Arsenal either

Why would we swap Wenger for a manager at a team several places below us ? It would almost as bad as swapping Wenger for Pooch.

LVG is probably even more stubborn than Wenger when it comes to playing formations and a certain style of play. At least Wenger has learned to play against the big teams (finally) but LVG is making his players fit his system instead of playing them to their strengths.

He needs an injection of young players to do the running. You can't have a team of players in their late 20s/early 30s, who all think their reputation earns them billing as the star man and are happy to play the fancy balls, but want someone else to do the running. An injection of youth and pace allied to the undoubted talent of players like di Maria, Rooney and RvP would certainly make Utd an attacking force again, even if the defence still needs at least one top quality addition.

Wenger is a very switched on manager, he's been around the PL for a very long time (as you obviously know!) and for me is a very astute professional - I personally think at times hes got some very good play from some very average players.

Van Gaal to me is an oddity - How can someone so ****ing clueless win so much in world football??

Whinger started very well - And, he's still a good manager. However, he's far too dogmatic for his own good. He doesn't see obvious flaws, the game moves on, but he sticks to his own methods.

Some few years ago, he seemed to take this Barca Light thing to heart. He focused on small, quick, but lightweight midfielders. Now all that's great until you, a) come up against a manager good enough to counter his tactics, or b) a team that wants to go to war.

As was pointed out at the weekend, when you had Vieira & Petit, it made no difference. They could play it either way. Now, the war option is not there anymore. Managers like Mourinho seem to come out on top against him, more often than not also, simply by knowing how he will play.

Southampton winning at the time of writing. If they get the 3 points tonight they will go 5 points clear of the Spuds. If Swansea beat the Spuds tomorrow they will be 1 point behind them, with the Spuds threatening to slide even further down the table into 8th. The pressure will really be on Pooch if he ends up guiding his team to a mid table finish.

  13. Arsenal has been a team of smokers and alcoholics for years, and the wonder of it is that Whinger has managed to get the like of Adams, Merson, and Wiltshire playing well above their individual batting averages. Once Arsenal lose him, they are in a world of pain (according to some people), and will start playing like a Sunday league side (in the opinion of certain pundits).

Southampton got the 3 points and now sit 5 points above the Spuds. Swansea now have a great chance tonight to close the Gap to just 1 point in their bid to do the power shift over the spuds.

    Pooch must be ****ting himself.

Even with a team full of alcoholics and smokers and the spuds still can't finish above us.

His fantasy about Swansea being 1 point behind us worked out well - if you add the nought on the end.

I'm only using HIAG's power shift logic. Personally I think Swansea are nowhere near challenging the spuds <whistle>
