Yes, you're right but not without good cause. We were okay tonight but poor in attack and that has been the way for the last 10 games. Whether we want to admit it or not we have scraped through too many games with narrow 1-0 wins and when the luck has run out we have been on the receiving end. I think I know what you mean but the difference between a win and a loss is fine margins, we were a long way off being good tonight when balanced against our early season performances. Palace were very poor for much of that game and we still couldn't punish them. I am stoked for the win but it would have been so much better to see signs of a renewed, rejuvenated attack because thats what we need back.
He wasn't much of a tank when Fonte leaned into him and he tumbled. Was the only time that idiot Francis said anything right in Saints favour. Just read through the thread and glad I'm not the only one who notices he always criticises everything about Saints when he commentates on our games. Is there any history between us and him?
Pardew said we probably deserved some luck in some of our other games, but not against Palace. Evened it out a bit for us. Only the result matters at the end of the season.
I like to think that it was because he believed he could have been the one to score the winning goal?
It was suggested by a commentator that it might have been good to see Pelle with Long...he may have felt the same.
A bit of righteous anger may do him the world of good. If he thinks his place is in real danger we could get the old Pelle back.
People were moaning that he didn't blow up for fouls but he was playing good advantages so no problems there.
I'd go so far as to say it was pretty much the best refereeing performance of our season. Fair to both sides, played good advantages, kept up with play and wasn't dishing out daft cards.
Fingers crossed. I'd definately be starting Long against Chelsea but its a hard team to manage at the moment.
I'd like to believe that I could find a cure to all the world's problems and have a sixteen inch penis.
He did drop a couple of clangers but they weren't in critical areas, probably the worst was that foul on Filip when he went through on the jinking run in the second half, he may have played advantage but should have gone back with a card, it was quite agricultural. Must admit he did the job better than most of the recent Officials. Might have thought differently had we lost!
Odd statistic most fouled player in the Premier League is Southampton’s Sadio Mane, who is impeded on average every 28.3 minutes, I don't think that will have changed much after tonights game!
