Been quite a few over the years I reckon.

Some people seem to think that they should like whatever is "in" with the music journos and can't see past their ****ty magazines like NME and other such guff. Some people just cannot think for themselves. Anyway, here's alist of bands who were very much underrated just because they were not sleeping with the music journos.

    XTC
    The Undertones
    Big Fun
The Kinks (quite possibly the best British band ever)
    Take That
    The Stranglers
    Boyzone
    Oasis
    Modern Romance

Feel free to add any more.

Sex Pistols don't get the credit they deserve.

They were pash though BH. Yet another manufactured boy band, sell out punk.

I preferred the more considered approach like The Clash and The Stranglers. Neither were punk but their attitude was far more punk than the manufactured bands who all followed the fashion which in essence was what punk was set out to destroy.

John Lydon is probably the biggest fake there has been in music.

    True, which it needed.

All that pretentious naval gazing prog rock with 35 minute guitar solos <laugh>

A band like The Buzzcocks epitomises punk for me not the manufactured Sex Pistols.

    I forgot about Squeeze.

I still think "Pulling mussels from a shell" is one of the finest pop tunes around.

Tilbrook and Difford for me were the successors to The Kinks (and Ray Davies in particular). Wonderful songwriting and lyrics.
