Why the EU's plan to ban halogen light bulbs should make you blow a fuse http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...ht-bulbs-make-blow-fuse-JAMES-DELINGPOLE.html the new type of bulb will cost up 25 quid each according to the article - whereas they are 2 for a quid at the moment in the Pound Store shop I have 10 of the spots lights in my bedroom alone - nearly 30 of the ****ers on the ground floor and my house has 3 floors ffs I'll go back to candle power methinks
We have 2 slabs in the cupboard under the stairs from b&m Cost £6ea for 24, the halogen ****ers are £4 a bulb in asda
Anybody with halogen should consider switching to led's. They cost a bit more but use far less leccy & last for ****ing years.
12 times 4watt leds equals 1 50 watt halogen. choose what spread or directional lamps for purpose ie kitchen bathroom etc. Money back in running cost very quickly also no heat generated within fittings
We've got all LED's now. Top stuff, cost £8 for two but worth the investment. Also, British Gas are insulating people's houses for free, the government are paying apparently. The link below tells you if you qualify https://www.britishgas.co.uk/energy-saving-products/home-insulation-b/eco-about-you-b
Changing all out lamps/fittings to LED. Cheaper in the long run and give a better light. It's b*llocks saying they will last for ever tho. Probably triple existing lamps life span but not for a lifetime. By the way Didds just for info they are lamps not bulbs. Bulbs grow in the garden.
I've got those ****ty 2D bulbs in most of the house and they are a shower of ****, and about £20 every time they pop. Piss me right off.
My ex wife has those & there's three in most light fittings in almost every room. You're right - ****ing ****e them are.
I'd never seen them before mate, they **** me right off. They seem to all pop together as well. ****er bulbs.
I've just got those CFL's now. In every room bar the kitchen which has a bog standard strip light. Got them for nowt for filling in a couple of surveys. Leccy bills have dropped like a stone.
I need to think about these things like, my electric was £412, it's not ****ing great like for 3 month!
just order 20 odd cheapish LED lamps (bulbs) from on Ebay from China -hopefully it'll make a difference to my electric bills cheers for the advice btw
as its my work/trade as a sparky ,leds i buy off ebay on average 28 quid for 12 minison leds 4 watt cool or warm white ,55 thousand hours life span ? dont know about that but halogens are huge energy users ,5 at fifty watt is 1 amp used ,the led replacement lamps you could run 60 leds ,in other words light your whole house for the same energy used, leds come in every variant for any fitting ,plus you become an eco man over night whilst saving money.
