I'm supportive of a ban, whilst I probably wouldn't have done it myself. They are on our board excessively and they only rarely contribute anything of any worth. They are as supers remarked, at least 95% WUM. I don't find any of it particularly offensive, just bloomin boring, its an endless and often witless stream of attempts to get a reaction. Because it is not offensive to me I might not as I say, have banned them. But, if I were in your position and there were more valued contributors(By more valued, I probably mean any other contributors, especially City contributors) who were getting pee'd of with them then I might have done the same. As Rob says, you are in an unenviable position and you can't please everybody. Bah!
Welcome aboard Hera, apologies in that my earlier message crossed with your 1st post. I hope that as this is a binner free zone (for a bit) you will feel free to post many more.
Have to say the endless derailing of almost every thread got a bit tedious, got to the point I just stopped checking and it's off putting to post. So Dave won't get any complaints from me.
Doesn't have to be "Binner free," just reasonably well behaved, if we lose a match, we expect piss-taking from you, but keep it relevant!
I think a big problem is how people look at the forum....when I want to discuss or having a laugh about or at Norwich I thought this would be the place to do so, if it's positive or negative about Norwich I would assume that I should come here and likewise if I want to talk Ipswich go to the Ipswich board...... I think the OUR BOARD brigade is a little OTT ...I am happy to accept that there will be an overwhelming bias towards whichever board your on but it doesn't mean it should be exclusive ...in my opinion......
Not that I've been around too much of late, but if consistently being a bit tedious is a 'bannable offence', then I'm sure more than a few people on here are probably in some danger (possibly myself included). As far as the forum rules go, have they actually breached any? Genuine question.
I'd got to the point of using the ignore function as I no longer want to read sexist, racist homophobic ****e
This is true WCP, so these things are always in the balance. Which is why posters get the benefit of the doubt. The problem is that the two bannees were almost certainly way, way, way over the line in terms of where the balance is. It's not that we object to their opposing views, it's that we objected to their opposing views (if indeed they were views - they mostly seemed just wind-ups) being repeated again and again and again and again and then occasionally resorting to abuse when posters pointed out they were being dicks.
