You APPEAR to take some satisfaction in our gradual slide down the table and the perception of myself and others on this forum is that it's connected with the tediously ongoing Laudrup/Monk debate. My post was prompted by the fact that we moved back UP the table despite your doom-laden predictions and the fact that 9 people bothered to 'like' it suggests that I'm not alone on this subject. Now, 'likes' are normally gained depending on which side of the divide you sit on and they are of no consequence, but in this case they seem to come from a broad spectrum of the community. It was inevitable that Swansea would move down the table from 2nd place after 3 games and I'm sure no sane person would have thought otherwise. Predicting that in a rational way is one thing, but my perception of your posts is that you wouldn't be overly upset if the team keep sliding down the table to demonstrate that Monk shouldn't be manager and Laudrup should still be with us. Please put me right if this is not the case. At this moment in time, I would say the likelihood is that we will get to 50 points this season. Position-wise we are most likely to finish between 8th and 11th since a 10-point gap has opened up between ourselves and 12th place. And yes, Laudrup is still the only manager in Swansea's history to have won a major cup competition. That is all

Gomis has indeed scored 5 goals, 1 a great header against arsenal. 1 against Championship Rotherham, 2 against the giant that is league 2 Tranmere and a scorcher in the league against Man utd, when he was actually trying to get out the way. Fantastic return for 80 grand a week. I still believe we have actually the worst striker in the PL in Gomis and you can go on about his movement is this and he creates space here, He is there to score goals and at that he is hopeless. He works hard as you say in areas that he doesn't need to be and to blame all that on Shelvey is a pathetic statement to make. Have a look at GM comments in the sun about Shelve and where as he accepts Shelvey didn't or wasn't doing it in the past he believes he is playing very well at the moment and is at total odds with what you have to say. The Sun yes The Sun actually gave him star man on the weekend. I know it is only one persons opinion but as you highlighted earlier some Yank had said Gomis played well. It is good we have some hard working and skillfull players in midfield and at the back, who can score a few goals to make up for someone's deficiencies.
Sorry but quoting either Monk or the Sun has little merit as far as I'm concerned. Shelvey and Gomis have both walked all over Monk and neither come close to players they have replaced or play instead of. As I have said - Shelvey's occasional involvement doesn't make up for the 70 - 80 minutes of a game when he's liability. The Sun will have seen Match of the Day and heard Monk's comments. Too many other outlets scored him a low 6/10 compared with an average of 7+. As with anything that relies on opinion we can find support for what we want. I tend to go on what I see and hear around me in games. Jonjo is not popular and Monk is not highly regarded by a lot of fans (others disagree). A positive - Taylor is getting his act together and it looks like the success of Jack Cork may be helping the left back and Ash keep position.
Funny how we see things , now for me Taylor is a liability , diving in , constantly double marking a player alongside Williams. leaving his man to wander at leisure towards the box .

Im no mug son. you would rather beat a league two struggling club and win a nothing cup that most clubs cant be bothered with and get relegated than having yet another season riding high in the premiership......you would not have got that with laudcrap as manager that's for sure.....

After all Howard had it covered all day long and had it not taken a huge deflection off the Everton player, the ball would not have ended up in the back of the net. Also as for the comment about the "physics" of the shot in your other post, last I checked, there are such things as goalkeeper error, last minute swerve/dip. They cannot say with 100% certainty that it would not have gone in the back of the net. Goalkeepers get their hand to the ball all the time, yet not always a strong enough hand to keep it out. Can you say with 100% certainty that De Gea would have stopped the ball going in the back of the net. Fact of the matter is, that you cannot possibly say with 100% certainty that he would have saved it, and to claim 100% certainty is nothing but utter rubbish. Hell look at the FREAK goal we got against Burnley, did you see that one coming, I highly doubt you did. I know you dislike Jonjo, but this is getting silly now.
