If you said it was all state endorsed violence in pursuit of absolute conviction in their beliefs then you could just as easily be talking about either side. The main difference is that, despite the reckless, almost barbaric methods, the Americans do pick out millitary targets. The Islamic radicals are ruthlessly indescriminate. I must admit I do fear IS more than the threat of Al Qaida because IS have territorial advantage and are smarter in their creation of fear, their ability to recruit and their expansionism. No direct fear for me because I'd struggle to see rural East Anglia as a viable target but because this could grow and continue seemingly endlessly. I was encouraged to see an IS defector yesterday on the late news who left (I think) due to refusing to execute women and children. That means there's a chance of others following but we (as the West) need to be smarter in how we battle this. Cartoons are not the answer IMO unless psychologically they can be tangibly thought to benefit the aims of isolating the extremists from those they look to indoctrinate. Sorry, no real point to this post but thought I'd share my feelings anyway.
I think someone don't like the Yanks getting a bit of stick. First they don't kill women and children and now I suppose they don't shoot no-one dead that don't deserve it?
