The minutes to that meeting were held back as the East Kent A ddicks have a 'you got to be there policy' only after three votes and a Bovril embargo placed on them by the Southern branch did they relent and publicly publish the minutes. Nothing like ego and self importance in a perceived crisis.
Cheers dick. Interesting summary, but just confirms my opinion that Meire is a piece of work, and CAFC will be better off without her.
Interesting read. Surprised that they were open in their opinions of Katrien as she might not be as willing to meet them next time. But a good surprise. I'm guessing the Reading striker was Pogrebnyak (sp). Interesting move that.
What I don't get is Reza saying he wanted to earn more money after the World Cup....so he moved on loan? Surely he's on the same contract just with his current team paying his wages? Or have I been playing too much football manager?
Katrien's version of the conversation with the trust contradicts the trust's version. Not that it's particularly important, but there are constant doubts over the veracity of her statements. Similarly the club are saying they have frozen season ticket prices, which doesn't apply if you bought at early-bird prices last season, as many did including me. And there is also the sneaky rise in the age of concession from 60 to 65. The impression I get is that being a lawyer she is always aware what she can get away with. Why bother?
The appointment of a slightly sexy lawyer would have the individuals in the trust hiding nervously behind their edition of Model Railway Collector in no time. Let's face it. Most of the trust would explode in their pants at the sight of a chair leg and the sexually repressed virgins from East Kent Addicks simply shake too much to be taken seriously.
An interesting post from CL one that shows up Meire as a bit of a storyteller. "She explained about Reza going out on loan Apparently he had a good World Cup and he was in demand and he wanted to benefit from the high wages that he could earn for a year or two. " The lady needs to just tell us the truth, that is all. I know for a fact that it was nothing to do with wages, he wanted out of our club within weeks of signing for us, he didn't settle in London/adapt to the football club/style. It wouldn't hurt us that much to just say Reza wasn't a fit mould for CAFC so we loaned him out as per his request, aka the truth. In fact it's better than a porky, thinking we would all believe that.
