" Sorry westlake, but that bit about the officiating is just pure make believe on your part. "

Make believe? Murphy shoulder barge with BASSONG - 6'4 built like a tank and falling around like a girl make believe?? No. He gave you decision after decision after decision first half it was laughable ridiculous and he was not fit to referee the game at all.

He was a TV ref and wanted to be centre of attention all game. He slowed it down for both sides. Another referee would have let the game flow been less pedantic and the game would have been a much better watch. To be fair he improved second half.

At least I have the grace to admit a referee has done the same for us before. Be fair and admit you got plenty of decisions. It's not your fault you did either, it's the referees fault for bottling it. As mentioned above I've refereed games and got stick by sides at times. It happens. Refs have good games players do too.

Also, him aside you were the better side end of. He however was a joke. As were 7 of our 11 players, shambolic.

" I'd give my MOTM award to Seb Bassong, probably the most improved player under the Alex Neil tenure. "

Seriously? I thought several of your other players were better than him. What really surprises me with someone as big strong and improsing is how afraid he appeared to get stuck in and how many headers he won but sent in awful directions. Two straight up in the air! You've better than that overrated player surely.

Westy, I have always enjoyed your posts when I used to visit your board, I always found you to be reasonable, I am now absolutely gobsmacked by your interpretation of the ref. He didn't give us a penalty which I've seen given on many occasions, normally against us, he failed to give Mings a yellow for a brutal body check, he failed to give Mings a second yellow followed by a red for yet another thuggish foul, need I go on??????

Ah, ok. This post confirms that you are hurt by what you saw yesterday and that has led to seriously delusional comments. Was the foul on Bassong (which was harsh, I agree) any worse than Grabban's foul (in the same place) on Berra, who dived in the most ridiculous manner when barely touched? At least Bassong was involved in a strong physical encounter - Berra just dived, pure and simple. Or does that not count as it wasn't one of those pesky, cheating Canary players? I would suggest you watch the match back again on tv and you'll probably see it a little clearer and see that you are talking nonsense. I've just watched most of it (couldn't be bothered to watch the last 20 minutes as nothing happened) and in all honesty the ref did you a very big favour in the opening exchanges by not awarding a penalty to City. Tough one for the ref so can understand why he got it wrong but ultimately he refereed the game fairly and let the game flow without dishing out yellows left right and centre - certainly one of, if not the most competent referee we've had this season. So westlake, I think you need to calm down a bit - you're letting emotions get in the way of rational thinking and it shows in your posts. You come across deluded but having seen your posts before I wouldn't regard you in that way normally.

Mings was a definite yellow I was amazed he didn't give it either.

I thought it looked a stonewall penalty also - need to see the highlights. I said to someone " uh oh we're in trouble here "

However a lot of free kicks he gave you were ridiculous. I couldn't see fouls in about 5- 6 decisions.

I thought he wasn't fit to ref the game and got lots wrong.

I think you need to stop posting on here. You are delusional. Bassong won almost every single header and unlike some of your cloggers, actually likes to play football. Bassong was outstanding yesterday, as he has been since returning to the side and is by a country mile the best defender in this division.

I suggest I am calmed down and have just explained I thought you should have had a penalty and Mings should have been booked.

In no way shape or form was his officiating acceptable. Awful referee.

No mention of Russell Martin deserving a Red Card for taking out our player off the ball in the Second Half then... <whistle>

tbf westie, the murphy shoulder charge one was more down to the lino than the ref.

but I must say I didn't think he had a very good game. I thought he was very naïve.

Yeah the off the ball one I really need to see again! Quite looking forward to watching the highlights.

That Bradley Johnson strike looked an absolute rocket.

Well, if I ever see another Ipswich fan complain that Norwich fans moan about referees then I shall remind them of this bizarre exchange.

and he missed a clear red card for violent conduct by Russell martin, so in my mind he was poor for both sides. which doesn't mean he had an 'excellent' game as has been suggested!

Absolutely no doubt in my mind, having seen how he handled the game yesterday, that he will be fast tracked to the Premier League - possibly before this season is even out.

I'm afraid that until McCarthy has a plan B to fall back on when the 'hoist it high and handsome heavily into their half' fails to reap dividends, then no game involving his horrible hoofing hoodlums will ever be remotely close to a "better watch".
Effective, possibly, against teams without the battling qualities, but watchable.....pah!

Sooner he's fast-tracked to the referee and upsets the likes of Mourinho and Wenger the happier I'll be.

Cromer we're broke and have assembled the squad we have so have to play a certain way - Mick's not daft, if we played open expansive stuff yesterday we'd have got stuffed!
