Of course, but they're not that ****- shall I point out their league position like you lot keep doing to us? We just played better.
We must hope Pellegrini and his team recover before going to OT or LVG will get the points too. Surely we don't want that.
There is a pride issue there. city will want to win that more than any game please note however............. yaya looks like he partied for 4 weeks at the ANC. he looks just unfit and a few weeks of work will have him up to speed I felt someone made a good point yesterday that I really only fully understood when MOTD ripped pelligrini apart. Yaya, sliva and nasric bascially never bothered their arse defendively did they? I think City need fernando and fernandinho on the pitch and yaya pushed forward.... really pellegrini needs to make a choice... is it the two lumps at full back or two up front that have to go. I don't rate kolorov and zabaletta all that high. they are solid players but not attacking threats REALLY. so play them and two DMS and you'll struggle going forward.
had to get on here and give credit where it's due. BR should be taking all the plaudits after resting Coutinho for this match. Given our excursion 2 days earlier, I wasn't expecting anything from this game. What a win. Follow this up with a win against Burnley and with luck Utd losing away and we'll be top 4. Amazing.
just a point. It must be said. LFC in first 15 looked most dangerous. after city scored did anyone really see us scoring as long as sturrdige was on bench? no i think. I felt sterling despite the stuff that bbc went on about drawing space for the others was woeful again in front of goal. I feel yes city left huge gaps but lfc really should have scored more. if anything we are lucky coutinho produced real magic cos we were knocking on the door very ineffectively.
Sterling demanding £130k/week (if true) is a total and utter piss take. Hope the lad takes a good long look at himself and realises how greedy he is looking right now. Wonder if all the uncertainty and madrid talk has unsettled him? His final ball/finishing has been suspect from day one and he should look at a long list of 'potentials' who have failed to progress from just that to world class............Whatever, bench him until he improves.
who knows. I think if he was put out right forward he'd be better than lallana in fairness but he looks short of real confidence right now. I think once he signs (unless he's a lying turd of course) then he might settle down. I'd still rather him to lallana and lallana is short of pace and finish IMO.
Pace maybe....but the lad can finish and he can turn on a penny! I'd like to see Lallana get a good run in the team, I think he's a quality player. Sterling is different but right now, he's well below where he needs to be and should be benched imo. £50m for him right now? May be worth taking.....I can't believe that i'm saying that either!!
besiktas showed lallana up... no space = no chance. I'll predict that a game where a team like say hull or any one of 5/6 other prem sides set up to just blanket defense us that lallana will do nothing.... but sterling can get behind.
Team who don't want to play football (Everton, Man Utd, Chelsea) give us more trouble than often far superior teams who do try to play football and get smashed (Man City, Southampton, Spurs)
yes but thats where coutinho's real trickery and vision comes into even more spotlight but i reckon pace hurts these teams once you realize that turning them and getting in behind negates their negativity. Its poor finishing that cost us in the chelsea league cup semi finals... nothing more. if you are lethal when you do get behind these sides then you force them to change their system and then its really set up for gold. sides who go like say sunderland to utd to get 0-0 often have no plan b once they concede.
yes he was also but for other reasons. In first leg lallana was anonymous due to them denying space. Sterling was just terrible cos he just takes an age to get set and think what to do. this pondering over everything and second guessing is whats hurting him... but he's got the asset to get himself in the position... pace. Lallana needs little inter plays and 1/2s
