A nice bit of trivia from the Grimsby / Braintree game on Saturday. John-Lewis turned out for the home team while both Marks and Sparkes were in the away line-up.

Bárðarbunga and the fissur in Holuhraun lava field has stopped erupting. The volcano was working for six months.
Hveragerði is cut off because road 1 at Hellisheiði is blocked with snow.
If SA beat UMF in the hockey tomorrow they are nearly champions again with one game to play. Standing is SA have two matches to play and lead the groUp by two points. SR who are in second seat must beat Björninn and then in the last game SA to win the championship. This season they have a better record with SA.

Morning all, sunshine and showers today, but very mild. Getting a bit fed up with the wet stuff at present, but it probably means we will have a long dry summer and the farmers will be upset having restrictions put on the amount of watering they can do. In the Alps and Pyrenees they have had above average snowfall, but it has set off many avalanches and there are reports of people dying, houses sliding down mountains and roads being blocked. It is a busy time for the ski resorts, but people are finding travel in and out difficult.

    Morning all

Very windy here this morning after some fairly violent squalls yesterday evening but the sun is out...for the time being. 43,000 words into the latest Winfrith novel 'The Hollow Way' so approaching half way.

Mme's car has to have the two year MOT tomorrow. Just cleaned it up a bit, put screen wash and oil into it, and removed most of the garden she seems to carry around in the boot. Looking at the last report her mileage has increased by 2,000 miles or about 20 miles a week. It really seems daft to have two cars, but if one or the other breaks down, without any public transport it then makes sense to keep it ticking over. A couple of times our daughter has needed it when her car was off the road. Getting the children to school has to be done by car as it is 8 miles away. At one time all the villages had their own school, but that has all changed and many have been turned into village halls.

Please Theo, change the title. I couldn't buy a book with that cretin's name as it's title unless you added some negative adjective. How about "The Filthy Hollow Way" or "The Hollow Way and the Mill Wall Collapse" or "the Fall of the Hollow Way"?

It never occurred to me until you pointed it out, NZ! <doh> I liked the title because there's a Saxon sunken road in the story and it also suggest following a path where the outcome is not all you might expect. Perhaps I'll have to think again, or maybe the majority of readers will feel the 1100-year time difference is enough to avoid any confusion <confused>

Good morning all from a gold and troubled Weston-super-Mare! A bit late today, I've had to wear my "mod hat" over on our board!

Have a good day and good luck to the Golden Boys tonight! <ok>

And good morning to you from a glorious Moray Firth coast. What do you mean by a 'gold.....' Weston-super-Mare?

It's a typo but could mean sunny and cold!

My laborious one finger typing involves me looking at the keyboard and a big chunk of my "G" key is worn away to look like a "C" <ok>

Morning all from a bright and dry rural France. According to my ISP I have a line that is perturbed. Seems alright to me and is much better than the provider I ditched a month ago. They say they will be working on the problem after 2.00pm today, but every time the appointed hour arrives the date moves on by another week. It would be a little more to the point if they said they will be working on the line before a date rather than after.
