Wasn't unlucky.. was pants. Tries to beat a man when wasn't needed then scuffed a shot like he seems to always do.
Good half, playing reasonably well and they took their chance, we'll be interesting to see if we can keep up the pace.
Suppose he's no Fellaini is he... He'd walk into any team in the world as an attacking midfielder. City constantly try and make him play as part of a 2 though which doesn't suit him as he can't defend.
Maybe in 2012 but not now. Hes just not that good and generally looks like he doesnt give two ****s. Hes just plain old ****.
I would actually take Sterling off for Sturridge, he looks completely off his game. Markovic, well, he has had what, one good game in his time here? Mignolet, looked so promising recently, but has seemingly forgot how to come out for a ball. Corners/set pieces, whats the point, just gives the opposition a chance for a counter attack.
What you on about, Toure's been great in possession for City. Really fizzing those balls into Silva/Aguero/Dzeko. What he needs to do is up his work rates because City are getting raped on the counter attack Then again you reckon Van Gaal is doing the best job in the world so no surprises with your thoughts
Not really. Silva, Aguero are game winners. Absolute quality players. Having two overrated **** bags doesnt take away that they were the best side in the league last season
played well that half...thought Coutinho was outstanding, some great passes. Lallana is having a good game too. might have been better to start with Sturridge
Thought Joe Allen was superb, takes far too much stick and is actually a decent player. Good in possession, good pressing and good positional play, more of the same please!
Open your eyes. The games passed him by completely. Like most games these days. Like Kompany hes living on reputation.
Agree with you on Kompany. Can't see how you think Toure is gash, City are so much better when he plays. Silva, Aguero, and Hart, agree, they're world class players. Toure is too but he's getting older. Nasri, Lampard, Milner, Dzeko are in the class below. Zabaleta (overrated, getting old and a shadow of the player he was 2/3 years ago), Kompany (having an off season, maybe in permanent decline), Mangala, Kolarov (both ****e) are in a class below that. Hence City's weak link being their defence.
Think Sterling has been a threat. Can still tell he's not a striker because he doesn't have that natural instinct in front of goal, but he's run the channels well and linked up with Lallana/Coutinho. He's also so much better at pressing the CB's than Sturridge. I'm not sure why Sturridge gets so much praise for it when he's about as good as Balotelli at it. I think it was overlooked last year because he had Suarez & Sterling doing all that work for him. I think Lallana/Allen/Hendo/Coutinho have been brilliant. All offering something different which gives us a good balance. Hendo and Allen's pressing and ball retention is good, Lallana is good with the ball in tight channels and making runs off the ball while Coutinho is the one trying the imaginative inventive things.
Both teams need a win. The game will open up in the second half . We will have multiple opportunities so it's a matter of taking our chances. I can see us winning 3-1.
Coutinho this match has been the standard out player. Standard nowadays. I've mentioned it a few times but he's better than Ozil, Silva, Cazorla etc. He can make the passes and he has the vision. What sets him apart is he's got the speed and dribbling ability to move away from players. Only thing missing in his game is his shooting which is pretty poor in general (he's scored a couple of screamers recently, but so can anyone)
A few half decent passes aside everytime liverpool broke he just about managed to walk back. If hes played well today then obviously standards have plummeted.
Sorry, but you're talking ****e mate, try watching him properly, they're a completely different side when he plays
