Does my head in that they, along with Palace, are constantly praised by the media for their passionate fans and such an amazing atmosphere etc. It's been one of the quietest grounds this year and last. They're all sat down and only make a noise to moan at the ref. I know a lot of grounds are like this nowadays but we're constantly told how wonderful Stoke's fans are and it's complete bullshit. We moan about the KC being too quiet but our East and North are both a lot louder than any area of the Britannia was yesterday. Also, our away support is really good apart from at places like Man U and Liverpool, we don't give ourselves enough credit for that. Brilliant again yesterday, as it was at WBA a few weeks ago. Not many away fans come to the KC and make the kind of noise we did yesterday. We were singing, undeterred, right through the process of them scoring. We do plenty of moaning about our support so here's some credit where its due.
The Stoke thing has always been a myth and Palace is just noise, not support. Even the Palace fans I spoke to don't like it because it screws up the more traditional support. Away support tends to be better because we're all together in the one stand. There's a message there.
Great support yesterday all the way through the game. Not seen a home atmosphere that bad since Watford away. Shame none of the players or Bruce stopped to actually applaud the support rather then a half hearted clap as they was walking off the pitch. There was only Jon Walters who actually stopped and applauded us from what I saw. Our current east stand alone make more noise then stoke did yesterday.
Again the support was great. Noise through and we sang through their goal. Loudest the CTID chant has been in ages. It's getting a bit muddled and mis-timed at home recently.
Didn't hear them until the 40th minute. Their pre match music was pretty lifting and some good choices of song and their fans still fell flat.
With the stand move, I think we've got more people singing, and having two sections works better than I thought it would, but as you've implied, they obviously can't hear each other and get way out of time with each other. Sometimes the East stand North stand chant starts, and one side is taking the piss out of the other for not responding, but they have responded, they've just done it so badly out of time that the other lot missed it.
North should really ask South to give a song. Then it could be 3 sides doing we are the east stand thing. Eventually West can join and do a muffled bout of coughing.
I can't believe anyone would waste their beer like that, especially at £4.20 a ****ing pint, day light robbery that was!
Yeah my wife's hood went straight ip come on chaz lets not start on west again! I sing my heart out away and sit on my hands at home! I've tried to get them going but With no joy!
I was so sick of getting glares from other fans and stewards for vocally supporting my team I moved to the East Stand, West Lower and Upper are awful, no matter what people say.
I know it's not the best! But I've sat in the same seat since its been built! Some fans around me are very knowledgable and enjoy their footy but I do agree more must be done to get them singing!
The atmosphere in West Upper is dire, but I'm loathe to leave because of the view, which is just superb. How anyone can watch from pitch level or from one end is a mystery to me.
I cannot see how Stoke manage to get nearly 10,000 more into the Brittannia then we can get into the KC. Agree the away support was good yesterday. Who is that bloke with the big white tiger under his arm? I was near him at WBA and he was there again yesterday, he might be a bit of an odd bod but he sang virtually by himself throughout the second half. I saw the television cameras turned round and pick him out in the second half so look out for him on 2 bad 2 good on MOTD2 tonight.
I was behind him at Sunderland and we were all on Match of the Day because of it. My dad went to speak to him in the concourse pre-match to mention their TV appearance together.
