What you've quoted me as saying is only half the story, PESKIE, as you well know.

"The minute Spurs finish above Arsenal the power will have shifted" is something that I was expressing on behalf of those who believe that. I don't necessarily believe that.

You were trying to convince yourself that you wouldn't have to overhaul 20 years of finishing below Arsenal for any sort of shift to happen, and you came out with that little gem about it only needing one season of Spurs finishing above Arsenal.

And now, shown up once again, you are back tracking, coming up with utterly incredulous excuses, wriggling and squirming and making yourself look like a ****ing idiot

 

Also, don't forget HIAG, you've already predicted that Arsenal will finish 7th this season behind Spurs, so you are claiming that the Power shift will happen.

A Paradigm is a distinct concept and thought pattern.
The situation with Arsenal being regarded as above Spurs is actually a "dominant paradigm" as it refers to values, or system of thought, in a society that are most standard and widely held at a given time.
For the status quo to change there would need to be a Paradigm Shift, in that everyone would have to think differently.

I am also using paradigm as in the sense of "worldview" and in HIAG's case the term is used to describe the set of experiences, beliefs and values that affect the way an individual perceives reality and responds to that perception.

As HIAG doesn't seem to see the world as it is (he admits he is a parallel universe) perhaps the he suffers from paradigm paralysis: the inability or refusal to see beyond the current models of thinking.

 

Anyone who understands quantum physics must accept the reality of parallel universes/dimensions. Whether I "admit" them or not is irrelevant. I would expand on this, but there would be little point for you.

I can see what you are trying to do with your "paradigm theory" wum, but it is fundamentally flawed. Arsenal is not simply an "idea" (and if it was it would be a bad one), but a reality, and any shift in power (if it has occurred or is in the process of occurring) is real, not merely an idea.

It is flattering that you are trying to impress me by striving towards the intellectual, Gooner4, but I would much rather that you didn't, mate.

Do you want this explained in more simple terms so that you understand ?

Everyone knows that Arsenal are a much bigger club than Spurs. They know this because Arsenal have a greater trophy haul than Spurs. They know this because the last time Spurs finished above Arsenal was 1994/95. They know this because the last time Spurs won the League Title was when God (the real one not Hoddle) was a boy.

The fact Spurs have managed 4 points against Arsenal this year doesn't make any difference to what everyone knows.

If Spurs manage to be in top 4 and be above Arsenal for the next 20 years, and win 10 more League titles and 8 more FA cups then what everyone will know is that Spurs are the same as Arsenal. Once you have exceeded all of this then everyone will know that a Power Shift has happened.

So I await the end of the 2035 season to see if Spurs have accomplished this.
Everyone knows this of course will not happen.

So Spurs you have a game in hand but you are behind us by 7 points and 17 goal difference - do you still think you are going to finish above us ?

if you don't finish above Arsenal does that mean there hasn't been a Power Shift or is it just on hold till next year ?

or does it mean when HIAG refers to "something is happening" that Spurs are going backwards this season ?

 

HIAG has already said that Spurs will finish above Arsenal this season, when he predicted Arsenal to finish 7th. So he's nailed his colours to the mast and told the world that the power shift will happen.
